After reading a review in our guide book decided to make the trip to Buvette. What a find - beautiful surroundings with buzzing atmosphere and gorgeous food. One of our favourite meals in NYC

“A great find in lower Manhatten”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

We chanced on this French bar/restaurant and what a find!! The food was superb, the wine was superb, the staff were delightful - it was quite obviously a popular place and it was not difficult to see why. Highly recommended if you get a chance.

“Small Plates - and small spaces”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Given that Buvette does not accept reservations, we decided on weekday breakfast as the best time to come - this turned out to be a good decision, as we did not have to wait to be seated at our small table for two. In fact, almost everything here is small - the space is small, the chinaware is small, and the elbow room is practically non-existant (I can tell you everything that went on last week in the life of the couple that sat next to us). Having said that, the quality of the food and the service make it all worthwhile. The croque madame is highly recommended, as is the walnut-cranberry tartine (steamed eggs were not as highly rated). Would like to try for dinner sometime, just need to pick a day when it might not be so crowded. Prices are a bit on the high side, but fairly consistent with other french-style bistros in Greenwich Village.

“A Greenwich Village Gem”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

Chef Jody Williams brings authentic French small plates and an excellent wine selection to this cozy Greenwich Village hideaway. Buvette is open for breakfast during the week and Brunch on weekends and of course lunch and dinner 7 days. Steamed organic eggs with prosciutto or smoked salmon or smoked trout roe are my favorites in the AM. Not to be missed are the beet salad or shaved brussel sprouts with pecorino and walnuts. There are home made pates, mousse, rabbit pot pie, lobster pot pie, coq ua vin and the list goes on. Of course you cannot leave without her famous hand whipped chocolate mousse or apple tartin.

“A small gem in the Village”
Reviewed March 16, 2013 via mobile

Buvette is a crowded french-style bistro,no reservations are accepted so you have to wait a little bit to be seated.
The food is worth the wating, small but delicious plates with seafood, meat, vegetables that taste and look wonderful.
Don't forget the dessert, the best chocolate mousse i have ever tasted!!
It's a little expensive but not much more than other places in the village and the experience is worth the money you will spend.
