I stayed here overnight after an event i hosted in PH-D. The views from the room are spectacular and especially if you're in the building that's on the conference center side. Although the rooms are small, they are very tastefully done and quite comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Stop in at PH-D -- if it's a lovely night they open the terrace doors and you can almost touch the Manhattan Skyline.

The only negative is the Moon Lounge. They bill it as a hopping place but they don't have a liquor license for the bar that's on the Moon Lounge level. The other bar is on a different level and pretty inconvenient. I was disappointed especially after inviting several clients to enjoy an after hours. It was a complete lack of clear communication on their side.

Room Tip: The rooms on the far side of the building near the Conference Center have better views.

Dear DRoman - we are glad you had a successful event here at Dream Downtown. Your concerns regarding the Moon Lounge were duly noted as discussed in person with you. We should have been better prepared for your group as the Moon Bar serves mostly as a Barista/Breakfast station. It was a pleasure having you at the hotel and we thank you for giving us the opportunity to showcase out hotel to your clients. Best regards - AXEL

My husband and I arranged two birthday celebrations this summer at the Dream Hotel. We booked a weekend for my daughter's 21 birthday and then we had such a fabulous time, we booked another weekend for our friend's 50th. Our experiences would not have been the same without the help from Carly Skinner, the Director of Guest Services. She worked tirelessly to make sure that everything was in place for us- she arranged a spacious upgrade to a suite and booked a cabana at the pool for a party for my daughter. Her expertise and sweet nature made her a pleasure to work with. My husband and I both have degrees in Hotel Management and travel quite a bit and we were most impressed by Carly and the entire staff at the hotel.

From the moment we were greeted by the doorman staff- in particular Jose, we felt welcomed at the property. Chirag, the life guard made sure that we were always taken care of at the pool area and showered us with attention. The entire staff that served us around the pool and the cabana made us feel like true VIP's.

The rooms that we stayed in were beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. The Saturday night rooftop party was a surprise to us as we were not aware of the event when we booked the room. This is a party not to be missed if you are in NYC in the summer.

We plan on going back to the Dream often!!

Room Tip: The rooms over looking the pool are terrific as well as the ones with views of uptown NYC

I have stayed at many hotels in NYC (four seasons, mandarin, hudson, gramercy park...) and this is by far the worst hotel experience I have had in quite some time (in NY and elsewhere). The staff here is either, for the most part, utterly incompetent or they have no ability to make a decision. Every little thing required someone talking to a manager - something as trivial as "can I bring four spoons up to my room".

The overall service was horrible. Housekeeping never restocked glasses for our entire stay (we called down three times for this and I eventually went down to the bar to get glasses myself), our daily paper never showed up, room service took over an hour, the food in the restaurant was pretty bad (we did dinner and a breakfast - breakfast being the worst since they screwed up our order three times, forgot to bring silverware, water, and nobody checked on us at all).

I generally don't gripe about stuff, but this is just unacceptable for a hotel in this price range.

BTW, if you are bringing kids, think twice. It is not a very kid friendly hotel (or area).

My wife and I recently returned from a weekend trip to New York. We spent the last night of our trip at Dream. The only regret from this trip was that we didn't spend every night with them. The hotel has a wonderful vibe, the staff was all very pleasant and so helpful. Natalie at the concierge desk took the time to help my wife and I figure out where to eat, shop and people watch, she was great. The lobby bar is great and we enjoyed the pool for a couple drinks in the afternoon. There is a cool lounge/bar connected to the hotel called Electric, I believe, and we stopped in there for a drink. There were 20 or so people in line and we just showed our room key and they got us right in. We visit NYC a couple times a year and we will be staying at Dream for sure. Great location, great hotel, amazing experience!!

I've stayed in most of the hotels in the meat packing district, this by far is the best. The rooms are beautiful, the service is excellent, the ambience is perfect and the social scene is great (although a little young for me). I highly recommend this hotel for even just one night. You'll love it!

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking the pool.

Stayed here for a business trip. Very convenient access to the blue line subway makes getting to midtown and penn station a breeze. Very friendly and helpful staff. When my newspaper wasn't delivered one morning, one my way out someone at the front desk handed my paper and said here you go Mr. XXX without my saying anything. I was concerned about noise from the pool area affecting me, but this was a non-issue. Great place to host folks for drinks, as you'd expect. All in all a great stay and I look forward to staying here again.

A warm greeting, a speedy and seamless check-in followed a helpful introduction from the Bell Captain, Vaughn made me feel immediately 'at home' at this incredibly cool hotel.
Having stayed at the Ganservoort the previous week, I was immediately won over by the service and style of Dream Downtown.

The following few days were absolutely perfect, spent in a warm and welcoming environment, in an absolutely stellar location. Highlights included the rooftop bar with incredible views, the pool (cool crowd, excellent music and a fun ambiance) and staff who were always helpful and addressed me by name.

A special thanks also to the concierge Natalie, who was both friendly and helpful.

Overall, this was an A grade experience.
