We staying for 2 nights and it was amazing - high tech room that was super clean and new feeling. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived, and were impressed with the main floor lobby and bar area. The staff is super nice and trendy and you'll enjoy the overall vibe. We stay at many nice hotels around the world on a regular basis, and this place is top of our list for New York. Also, they have a very cool bar/club on the top floor that's you should check out.

My husband and I stayed here and could not believe how gorgeous this hotel was. The rooms were spacious compared to other hotels we have stayed in in NYC and the views were amazing. The rooms were clean and the service was great! We would definitely recommend this hotel.

had a great stay there and really enjoyed the warm atmosphere. the bar at the rooftop is fabulous and you do not find that many outdoor pools including a real beach in downtown like they have. try the steak in the restaurant! room management system is great and perfect to use and the design of the bathrooms is unique.

Room Tip: Rooms to the north have an amzaing view on the empire state building.

Am in Manhattan for Interior Design work every so often and so happy I decided to try The Dream.....elegant and comfortable, cool property in great location. Walkable to great restaurants, clubs and shopping. Close to subway and easy access to all parts of the city. Staff is casually gracious, friendly and helpful. Service top notch. Excellent food......fast room service. Rooms are cool contemporary and so very comfortable. Incredibly beautiful low key and private lobby. PH club up top has amazing city views, atmosphere and personable service. Taxis always out front. I have stayed in many luxury properties in town and this one is fabulous. I will absolutely stay here again.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Dream Downtown Hotel for 3 nights. We found everything throughout our stay to be perfect. The hotel is trendy, but sophisticated and friendly at the same time. We found the staff and concierge to be very helpful when arranging trips for us. The club on the top floor has fantastic views over the city and made for a great venue for an evening drink and meeting new poeple. Again the staff were very attentive, without being over the top.

This is a hotel which will make your New York trip even more memorable. Vaughn and his team were very helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. I cant wait to go back.

Room Tip: Ask the concierge to recommend places to go, we went to a comedy night based on their recommendation...

My wife and I stayed at the Dream Downtown from the 29th Dec 2011 to Jan 4th 2012. While the hotel is in an excellent location and very trendy the service we received was mixed.

We could not toast in the new year at the hotel because the rooftop and the lobby bar had been rented out to host private parties. I have never stayed at a hotel before that denies it's paying guests access to it's bar. I found this arrangement strange and disappointing.

As an alternative, we purchased a bottle of champagne and called the front desk for a bucket of ice to ensure it was chilled when the big moment arrived. The bucket of ice did not arrive so I called again and was promised the bucket ice immediately. Again the bucket of ice did not arrive. On our way out to dinner I stopped at the front desk and asked them again. When we came back from our dinner we discovered that the bucket of ice had still not arrived. I phoned the front desk again, got the same promise of immediate delivery and guess what...we are still waiting for our bucket of ice!

As a way of making it up to us we did receive a room upgrade for the remainder of our stay - we were in a queen which was a little basic and small. The king that we were moved to was bigger, had a bath and the bed was fantastic.

Room Tip: Forget the queen room, go for a king!

During 2011, I had the pleasure of staying at the Dream four times. Across the board, they were all outstanding experiences. Based on the well-heeled glamazons and overall incredibly hot bros that trod through the place at every hour, it's become the sequin-studded feather in Chelsea's hyper trendy cap.

The setting is hip, decor is indulgent, but not vulgar. While other comments speak to the small size of the rooms, I find then amble by NYC standards.

But while the aesthetics are are noteworthy, it's the staff and service that truly place the Dream above the pack. The staff is polished, professional and extremely accommodating.

To Consider: If you're seeking a quiet, calm and serene respite, this ain't the place. While I've yet to be awoken by noise, you do pretty consistently hear goings-on above you, below you and outside your room. The only time it was a real issue was when I was housed on the 12th floor, just below the night club floor. Having said that, the front desk happily warned me upon check in and offered to have me wait for an open room on a lower floor.

Design Note: Who designed the sinks in the bathrooms? They are virtually unusable.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms 7 to 10 for optimal noise protection.
