This restaurant has only had its current owners for the last two years so any reviews older than that are null and void. This is the first time that we have dined at this restaurant but certainly will not be our last. I really do not know where to start, service and food very good, location and price excellent. This is a very small restaurant seating no more than 40 people with a very small bar. It was located a short walk from our hotel (Belvedere on West 48th), literally 2 doors down, our theater (Richard Rogers), a couple of short blocks away and Times Square, a couple of more short blocks away. We went for an early (5:30 pm) pre-theater dinner and were a bit surprised how full the restaurant was but we were immediately seated for our 5:30 pm reservations. The entire wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, service was prompt but not rushed. Now for the food, since we had eaten a late lunch we skipped the appetizers and went right to the entrees. We had the shrimp scampi with linguini and the seafood fra diablo over penne, both meals were very good. Having grown up in an Italian household with a mother who was an excellent cook I reserve excellent Italian food reviews for the very very few. We both had a glass of wine and one bottle of Poland Spring water, the meal also came with garlic bread. We ordered one dessert, lemon sorbet. The price was reasonable for an Italian restaurant in any major city but given NYC prices it was a steal. I have actually paid more for breakfast for two at Lindey's deli than I did for this meal, the bill came to $82 which included an 18% service charge. We returned to the restaurant after our show for leisurely coffee and dessert. Dessert was a large cannoli and the largest order of zeppoli I have ever seen. Coffee, dessert and a Sambucca came to $31 again including an 18% service fee and all was excellent.
