We recently stayed at the Hyatt 48 Lex Hotel and found it to be a great boutique hotel with impressive large bedrooms and bathrooms, excellent friendly, helpful staff particularly Ebony who worked in the lounge on the 2nd floor providing complimentary snacks and drinks (that were a welcome bonus). We would also recommend the restaurant and had a few great meals there. The hotel is ideally located.
Would definitely recommend this superb hotel for your stay in midtown Manhattan!

Apart from the check in area that takes getting used to the stay was great. Good sized rooms with a great work area, kitchnette and a bar (not-mini!) that leaves little to be desired. The showers are huge and do give a lot of water. Lighting impressive and staff friendly, caring and pretty! This is my new place to stay at in NYC!

Room Tip: Corner rooms on 48th....

We booked a room the day of our stay through Priceline, and while the hotel clearly got good reviews, I was a little worried after seeing how sometimes when people book through Priceline, they aren't treated very well upon arrival. It could not have been a more different story for us. Cody checked us in and I'm not sure if we've ever had a more pleasant check-in experience. He was extremely kind and personable, and really went the extra mile to make our stay special! We were so thankful for his kindness, and were sure our stay couldn't be better. Then, we stepped into our room. Beautiful! The room was sparkling clean and bigger than we were expecting. Our room included a terrace that overlooked Lexington, which we very much enjoyed. The hotel is really located in a perfect spot. It's a nice, safe area that is close enough to restaurants, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Terminal, and even Times Square to be convenient to walk, but far enough away that you avoid the miserable crowds, traffic, and noise. The bed was extremely comfortable and the in-room bar felt more like it was from a restaurant (even included a small dishwasher) than a typical hotel bar. I can't say enough positive things about this hotel. It was a perfect stay. Thank you so much to Cody & Hyatt 48 Lex for making us feel so special!

Walking distance from Grand Central (and if it's raining you can take the walking tunnels from Grand Central almost to the door of the hotel). I LOVE the safe and quiet location. The rooms are quite roomy (especially by NY standards), everything is clean and sleek, and QUIET!! There are only5 or so rooms to each floor, so very little foot traffic. The window will open, which is rare. There is a nice lounge on the 2nd floor where there is a very high tech cappuccino machine. They serve pasties, fruit, cheese and crackers, and (wine for purchase) at different times during the day.

We purchased the Uber package, which was worth every penny! Late check out, free wifi, and $20 credit on Uber car service, which we used 3 times.

There is no large lobby, but who spends time in grand lobby anyway? They are lovely to look at, but I would rather have clean, quiet and comfortable for a reasonable price in a great location. The employees were all cheerful and helpful. Will definitely return and have already recommended to several friends. I'm not always able to do that. I really think you will be pleased if you want the things I listed.

PS
We were there for Macy's Thanksgiving parade - walked a few blocks a viola!

Room Tip: Room 1101 was quiet, with a nice view.

First, the good points: Great location, very eager-to-please and cheery staff (the glass of wine at check-in was a nice touch), relatively large, modern room with floor to ceiling windows, fantastic restaurant next door (Avra).

A couple of annoying points: the "kitchenette" was at most, a wet bar. No refrigerator space (the mini-bar stuff made it chock full, although there was a reasonably good and not typical selection of things to drink, including wine etc if you're so inclined), and no utensils, not even a spoon to stir your coffee/tea. Then there was this rather loud constant whooshing/blowing sound with an accompanying rattle that didn't stop by turning off the heat/a/c system. The engineer said there was ducting that brought 'fresh' air from the roof that and he ended up stuffing a towel in the vent to stop the rattling (it was a windy weekend). The sound was somewhat dampened but never went away completely. I don't mind sirens or traffic, but this sound was annoying. And a word to hotels in general-- i know you're trying to save money here and there and i've noticed that the trend is to only provide shampoo/conditioner/soap but nowadays many of us don't check bags and therefore don't travel with body lotion. It gets really dry in hotels during the winter and it would have been nice to have some....

Overall, however, one of my favorites in NYC.

Room Tip: Get as high as you can for a little better view.

The hotel is in a pretty good location. Not too far from Grand Central Station. From the moment you arrive at the hotel, the staff greets you with a smile. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. On the second floor of the hotel, they have coffee available every day and the machine they have makes a pretty good espresso, hot chocolate or capuccino. Plus they have fresh fruit for you to have. The rooms were a decent size, comfortable and the shower had plenty of room. I thought for the price we paid, it was worth every penny for comparable hotels in the area. I was impressed and will definitely be going back.

My favourite NY hotel. Excellent front desk staff make you feel welcome as soon as you walk though the door. The rooms are large, clean with a well stocked mini bar. Try to eat in the restaurant and the friendly service and good food make this a pleasure. The mid-town location means that you are 10 minutes from 5th Avenue.

Room Tip: Ask for a room ending in 01 as they are bigger
