We found this Thai restaurant last time in NYC, so we made sure to go back a second time! Love their food. Ask about the specials, they are also wonderful. Tiny restaurant with excellent Thai food

“Great food”
Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

This is the real deal. The food is tasty. Spicy. Excellent. The beer is cold and cheap. Never had a bad meal here. Easy to eat a lot. It's worth your visit.

“Great Value Near Theatre Distirct”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

Had a delicious lunch here. They had a special menu with very reasonable prices for very tasty food. Had the Pad Thai which was nicely presented. Staff were very nice too. They also were willing to do substitutions which was very helpful as I can not eat shrimp.

“Pure Noodle Bliss”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Get the pad thai if you want to be boring and have something you've had before.... Get the noodle bowls if you want your mind blown.

The king of Pure Thai is the Ratchaburi crab and pork noodle (DRY!) is bliss in a bowl. I mean, there are few dishes worth waiting an ungodly amount of time for (over an hour, if you didn't make reservations and it's a busy night): but this is totally worth it. The bouncy egg noodles, sweet-ish roast pork (like Chinese cha-shao/char-siu), and lumps of briny crab... it's good stuff.

The other noodle bowls on the menu are also pretty awesome. The Krabi spicy seafood bowl (with soup!) is noted as being not for "novices" (and the restaurant's policy is "no returns" for this dish... so I guessed a lot of folks couldn't take it). Surprisingly enough, it's not killer spicy and the fermented tofu doesn't really make it funky. It's a bit spicy sour, there is a distinct aroma, but if you're OK with Asian food in general, this should not offend you. The neon pink soup colors all the ingredients (fish cake, fish balls, squid, white wood-ear fungus, thick flat rice noodles) and there's a healthy pile of morning glory veggies to help aid the eventual "exit" later.

Beer, Thai iced tea, curry puffs, a to-die-for mango sticky rice dessert = all worth it. I will be coming back here. It's popular with locals. Popular with Thai folks (most customers were speaking Thai when we were there). Awesome Thai-pop piped in for ambiance. Go for it, it's seriously one of the best places in the city.
