Description: PURE Thai Cookhouse is a genuine Thai shophouse-style restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen that features homemade noodles from a prized family recipe. PURE specializes in signature dishes you would find from the many vendors and shophouses from the farmlands of Phayao, in the North to the floating markets of Ratchaburi in Central Thailand, to the oceans and fishing villages of Krabi in the South.

This is an absolute gem. You need to be prepared to wait for a table and to eat in cozy quarters. But, it is really worth it. They step beyond the typical Thai experience to deliver a special set of tastes. Ask for and listen to the servers recommendations.

We chose this restaurant based on a love of different thai food and the recommendations on this site and it did not disappoint. Arriving at 6pm on a Saturday (2 of us), the place was already packed and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. However in reality it was only about 15 before we were sitting at a table. We would have waited much longer because the food smelled so good, and the taste did not let us down. The Papaya salad was delicious (hint, get it spicy if you're into that) and the noodle selection was great. Highly recommend getting one of the Pure Thai noodle selections as the handmade noodles were some of the best we've had. A nice cold Singha to wash it down finishes it all off. The food was authentic and up there some of our favorite "real" Thai experiences. Will be coming back for sure!

We happened to come across this restaurant on a walk down ninth and were drawn in from the open cooking at the front and the delightfully cosy insides. The food was just divine, I recommend the pad thai! The staff were friendly and I have to say it was one of the best meals I had in the city. 5 stars!

This is a typical small restaurant in this area of Manhattan. Not many tables and they are close together. But so what? The food is excellent! We just got back from a trip to Thailand and we sampled many dishes at The Shophouse and loved all of them!! The Pad Thai was excellent! The wait staff is friendly and very pleasant and efficient. We got there when it opened at noon on a Sunday and it was filled within an hour. Great food! Great staff!
