“Wow, fun spot at Grand Central!”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

We dropped by around 4:30 because some friends had recommended it. We were able to get seats before our friends showed up. The hostess was very helpful and guided us to seats with the admonition that our couch mates would likely be leaving soon making room for our friends. After 5PM the place gets packed with all sorts of NY business people, meeting for drinks, deal making and networking. The drinks are expensive, running $13 to $19 each, but they are potent and the snacks are great! I would recommend the "Shanghai Margarita", very tasty. Also, try the "Nuts and Olives" dish for something a bit different. The room is interesting as it is decorated to represent a 13th Century Florentine palace, though it is 30' by 60' it gets very loud as people pack into the room. The room is beautifully decorated but don't expect to wander around the room unless you go at non-peak times. Instead pickup one of the flyers that explains the history of the Campbell Apartment, have a drink and enjoy the ambiance. Appropriate attire is required: No Athletic Shoes, T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Baseball Caps, Shorts or Torn Jeans

“Delicious cocktails but a door girl with a bad attitude.”
Reviewed April 10, 2014

If you can ignore the attitude of the rude girl at the door, this place is great. Beautiful setting, very romantic and atmospheric and delicious cocktails, yum!

“Good to go once”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

We came here on a Friday night and miraculously got seated; I'm not sure how but I suspect that the gentleman in our group did a little smooth talking. The drinks were obviously pricey - it's Manhattan - but they were very well made. I really recommend the ginger drink - it was delicious.

The atmosphere was interesting - it was very loud, but it was fun to look around and take it all in as a first-timer. I probably wouldn't go back again, but it was worth it for the one time.

“Fantastic, pricey but worth it for a treat”
Reviewed March 13, 2014

Cannot complain, I had two cocktails and got a little "squiffy". They were quite expensive but they were delicious and very strong. The staff were pleasant enough, I know it's touristy, but we were tourists so can't complain. Just go, treat yourself.

“all the charm is gone”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Years ago The Campbell Apartment was fantastic. I loved taking someone there for the first time. Hard to find, spectacular room, white gloved waiters pouring your exotic drinks as you sat talking quietly on an antique sofa, near the fireplace if possible. Then the magazine and newspaper and website articles started and the hidden gem was no longer hidden. Everything that made it great is no more. It is packed, you have to yell to be heard, seats are impossible to find unless you get there before 5, the white gloved waiters are long gone. The reason I gladly payed $16 for a drink was the atmosphere and the feeling that you were some wealthy banker from 100 years ago. Now, unless you go at a strange time, forget it. Everyone claiming it is romantic clearly hasn't been there M-F in the least couple years.
