“Love this place - classic NYC”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

Went here with a couple of girlfriends after passing the elevator every day for years on my commute in and out of Grand Central. If you are into authentic, vintage NY and awesome cocktails this is the place for you. The pricey drinks are worth it to experience the unique ambiance and history (read up on it before you go, really interesting!) Also, the hostess and waitress were terrific and attentive, even inquiring if the little-too-tipsy guy at the bar was bothering our group. Great background jazz music completed the 20s/30s vibe.

“This is a "must visit" spot in New York City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012

I met a local for a cocktail at Campbell's Apartment, and the ambience of the room was unforgettable. It was truly as if one stepped back in time. I would recommend reading about the history of Campbell's Apartment before you visit... so that you can truly appreciate it. This is a hidden gem that sees few tourists.

“Great find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012

We found this great piece of calm in the city when leaving Grand Central,it was lovely to sit under the arches on the comfy sofas and drink some of the best mojitos , we ended up going back a couple of times. The actual internal bar upstairs is equally great and full of people heading to weddings and dinner , a place for a cocktail not a pint.

“Enforce the dress code to maintain the ambience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

It really did feel like stepping into an episode of Mad Men during our Thursday night visit. The ambience was let down slightly, however, by the door clerk failing to enforce the dress code; several customers were sporting their finest trainers and sweatshirts. Don't get me wrong, I love my joggers as much as anyone, but this sort of setting works best if everyone makes an effort.

Service was otherwise excellent, with the waitress making an effort to ensure we were seated comfortably.

I think London has eclipsed NYC as the world's cocktail capital now, so, being accustomed to great mixology, I found the drinks to be relatively average. Worth a trip for the setting alone, though.

“Step Back in Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

The Cambpell Apartment, located in Grand Central Terminal, is a small unique bar to sit and enjoy a drink. Before you go you MUST read the history behind it to appreciate the experience. The setting is the 1920s - 30s and so are the drinks. It is very unique and located upstairs in a separate area from the rest of GCT. Whatever you are doing in NYC, take a moment to relax here. It is quiet, but nice, during mid afternoon. For couples, friends, business - not for children.
