Second stay at Sofitel New York and lovely again. Location is great- close to Times Square theaters and 5th Avenue shopping. Despite this busy area, the rooms are silent- amust for my noise sensitive ears. My 18th floor king room was clean and spacious. Furnishings light and attractive. AC/heating silent (I hate rattles and buzzingt). The windows actually open a small amount for that "fresh" New York air. The bed was fairly comfortalbe altough the mattress seems a bit lumpy. Good pillows.
Bathroom is large with seperate bath and shower. Lighting is particularly good (maybe too good for that magnifying mirror).
Staff freindly and efficient. Lower speed internet access is free--fine for e mail and light internet surfing.
The lobby is a quiet oasis of elegance in the Ritz Carlton tradition.
Continental breakfast is kind of expensive ($24) but who can resist a small fruit plate, great coffee and a bread basket straight from Paris.
All in all- Tres Bon.
