This was our first time to NY and it was a lovely hotel, very safe and staff were just lovely. We stayed for 8 nights in a suite, which was great as we were a family of 3, which gave us more than enough space for suitcases, shopping, etc... The room was really quite and the beds were so comfortable, great after a day out walking....The bathroom and the amenities (Hermes) was also nice, they gave us complimentary water each night as well...we couldn't fault the hotel or it's staff..the location is just 5 minutes from everything...Grand Central Station, 5th Ave, Times Square and Broadway....We just went to the Red Flame most mornings for breakfast, huge meals and great service...good coffee, pop over to Gregory's, he gets this right!....
Dry cleaning...there is a dry cleaner directly opposite the Red Flame in the "Hippodrome" building on the ground floor, its cheap..and try and get to "Carmines" italian restaurant at Times Square...you won't be sorry, meals are really generous, 1 serve fed the 3 of us and do try the traditional Italian cheesecake...to die for!!!!

Room Tip: Ask from a room away from the lifts

Stayed for 2 nights for business. Room was decent size and was spotless, Curiously no coffee maker. Hot water took about 5 minutes to arrive in shower and when I reported this at checkout, it was met with indifference. Bed was very comfortable.
On the whole staff were friendly and helpful. Most staff were bilingual, English/French.
The real plus point is the location. It's easy to get to. I took the Newark Express bus which stops in Bryant park, just a few steps away and Times Square is 2 minutes walk away.
I also used the Red Flame Diner for breakfast (I found paying over 30$ for breakfast too steep) and it gives a proper New York experience for much less.
Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Go high to have daylight.

An excellent position in Mid Manhattan. We had room 2415, it had a balcony, and from there you could see both the Empire State Building & the Chrysler Building. A top quality hotel, not cheap ($1400 for 3 nights) for a room with a suite. Easy to get to Times Square, about 2 minutes walk, an excellent diner (The Red Flame, $30 for breakfast for 2) 1 minute walk. This was our first visit to New York so we paid for a good hotel, in a good location. There is a Novotel just off Times Square if you want the location but not the price or views.

stayed here for a week over Christmas. We had a great room on a high floor overlooking 44th st. This is one of those very few hotel experiences where little can be faulted. Check-in Christmas Eve after flying from Australia was welcoming. The rooms were the cleanest I have ever experienced (and the hotel is not new). Admittedly we did tip hosekeeping generously at between 3 and 5 dollars a night. the room was compact, but well organized, the wardrobe was a bit small though for winter and overseas visitors. Concierge arranged tickets to two sold out broadway shows and would definitely stay here again. The cafe/restaurant is not the best, but there are so many other options on your door. A very quiet location, yet so close to time square, 5th ave, grand central etc. If the budget stretches, stay here!

Lobby and facilities are outdated for the brand standard, but the staff are very helpful. The bathrooms are exceptionally large for NYC / Midtown (with separate bathtub), which is a great treat after a long day at work. While the lobby decor is underwhelming the fresh flowers and arrangements are a nice surprise if you are taking some time to rest or having a meeting.

I stayed Sunday Feb 19- Wed Feb 22, Great location as it's close to Grand Central and Times Square. Nice touches, free water! Wifi! Heating system that was quiet. Could not hear any of the other guests in rooms or hallways.
Pricey - yes, but you get good value. Nice workout room.
