We stayed in this hotel during our first anniversary.. to make it easy on future guest:
Pros:
- very nice and new hotel with fancy touch lights control and tv/computer system that substitute guest/staff interaction if ones like (from order extra towel/toiletries to wake up calls and concierge arrangements)
- Spacious Rooms with seating area
- comfy bed and extra large pillows (kind of so-so for the pillows i like)
- lots of coffee shops/and restaurants around (within walking distance)
- Movie theater is in the same building
- Security and police are present all time as hotel is located in the financial district
- Metro station is about 8 minutes walk
- Staff offered us complimentary chocolate strawberries for our anniversary (needs arrangement)

Cons:
- Hotel provides valet parking for $65/day while it costs $52/day in the parking garage directly facing the hotel (icon parking)
- Rooms has a motion sensitive mini bar that would charge the guest for just moving items inside the mini bar fridge
- an empty fridge is provided upon request at a one time extra charge of $27
- full day internet wifi for a charge of ~$14/day (same case of most hotels)

Room Tip: ask for a room facing Hudson River for a nice view

We stayed at the Conrad over Memorial Weekend. I was pleasantly surprised when i walked into the large acoomodations (for NYC standards) There is a separate living room from the bedroom. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have nice upgraded tech details. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, but a bit aways from things, but nothing too far in a cab. If you are HiltonHonors gold or above, you'll get a credit towards breakfast which is a nice plus as the restuarant is pricey, Although the service at the restaurant wasn't great, the service elsewhere was great!

Great value and location! The walk to the nearest subway is the only "setback", but you're incredibly close to everything you'd want from Financial, Tribeca and the neighborhood in general. Great place to stay for leisure or business travelers.

We stayed here over the Memorial weekend 2013 (4 nights). This hotel used to be an Embassy Suites with an open central atrium. The rooms are set up with a front living area. There is a comfortable sofa (not a pull-out) that a person under 5'10" could sleep on with the extra pillow and blanket in the closet.

The middle section has a bar with glassware in a shallow cabinet, sink, mirror, small safe in a drawer (an iPad fits, but not a laptop), one cup coffee maker and a mini-bar (touch sensitive so don't remove any item unless you want to pay for it). The middle section also includes a medium sized bathroom with very modern fixtures with a frosted glass door (can't lock). You have to fiddle with the 3 knobs in the bathtub to figure out which one is for the shower, bath, or which way is hot/cold. The water pressure in this hotel is not very good at all with the wand style shower head (adjustable height). The middle section has glass sliding "Japanese" style glass doors that you can shut to partition the room (does not block light).

We had a room with 2 double beds and they were very comfortable with a sheet covered comforter with no actual separate sheet. The pillows were firm and down. The robes, sheets and towels were high quality. The flat screen TVs and menu, TV guides were easy to use. There are touch lights everywhere and by the entry door and each bed there are Master off switches to control all the lights at once which is nice.

We asked for quiet rooms high up facing the river. But, due to flight delays, we didn't check in until 8pm and ended up on the 7th floor facing a building with construction directly across from our window. The construction always stopped by 10:30 each night though. My kids were in the room right next door and I am sure they had the TV on and made noise, but I actually never heard them or anyone above me. I slept with a small fan I bring along for white noise and I slept very soundly every night.

All of the staff was very courteous and we had no problems whatsoever. There is a lot of modern art and modern furnishings throughout the hotel. Everything looked new and clean. We had vouchers to eat breakfast in the Atria restaurant that were worth $20 each (plus tax and tip). Most of the breakfast item entrees cost between $14-18 so it was free for us. The kids loved the waffles and my husband and I got the scrambled eggs bruschetta or egg white frittata which were excellent. It seemed like most of the guests were 20-50 yrs old with only a few families with young children.

I would definitely stay here again. We walked all over the Battery Park, Ground Zero and Tribeca areas from this location. The Regal movie theatres, Shake Shack and North End Grill are part of the same complex which is great as we went to them all. There is a covered breezeway with wine shops and an Italian restaurant as well. We had no problems getting a cab when needed at the hotel entrance. However, there is no seating at all at the hotel front street entrance if you are waiting for someone. The hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor (accessed by escalator, stairs or elevator).

Room Tip: Higher floors lessen the street noise (not bad at all in this part of NYC). The AC is quiet so bring...

We stayed one week in two rooms,Nice hotel, good service, large rooms. the only problem the breakfast, infect ,you must book the table in advance to avoid to wait 15/20 minutes to get a place and when finally you are able to order your breakfast (like for lunch or dinner) and you wait again 20/30 minutes to be served, the price also quite expensive.

I'm staying at room #307 and every time I enter the room,
I can't help but saying 'what's this fishy smell????' Plus the hotel staff is worthless. I was standing in front of the concierge desk for 20 minutes and nobody showed. In the mean time, 5 hotel staff were literally 10 feet away from the concierge desk laughing and chatting. I almost went to them to ask for help but they were so into their own chatter I didn't want to interrupt them. It would have been too rude. After all,I'm just a meager customer who's spending the Memorial Day holidays there. I checked out from hotel andaz (htatt brand) to stay here but oh, boy, do I regret. I had stayed in hotel Conrad while in Japan and that's why I wanted to have a couple of nights here. I really really regret my decision. Should have stuck to Andaz. Can't wait to get out of this place and the smell.

We stayed at The Conrad for three nights and, as the trip was a last minute break, paid a lot more than I would normally pay for a good room in New York. However, it didn't disappoint and the hotel's location in the financial district was a first for me and a pleasant surprise. I was concerned travelling with a girlfriend that we would feel unsafe in the empty streets in the evening but that wasn't the case. The hotel is close to the Hudson and in the midst of a vibrant residential area. When we returned from a show on our last night we had no concerns making the 15 minute walk from Chamber Street subway as there were still plenty of people out and about, including lots of dog walkers pretty much any time of the day.

We were impressed with our deluxe suite which was in three parts - a sitting area with TV, desk and sofa-bed as you enter, then the bathroom area with a large separate shower room (no bath) and finally the bedroom with two beds and another flat screen TV. There are retractable screens at each end of the bathroom area for privacy. It would certainly have offered much better value for money if I was travelling with a couple of friends, with the sofa in the living area turning into a bed. We made good use of the Nespresso machine all the time and housekeeping left extra pods, milk and teabags when requested. We had plenty of wardrobe space, good blinds at the windows and were untroubled by noise outside during our stay.

It was a shame there was no free wifi although we used the PCs and printer in the business centre to print off maps and boarding passes. We didn't use the gym but got extra bottles of water there and when needed and there were usually some apples too. We didn't use any of the restaurants or bars in the hotel but the front desk gave us a good recommendation for breakfast at the Kitchenette on Chamber Street (where they have free wifi). We found every member of staff we met to be unfailingly helpful and polite.

I’d be happy to recommend this hotel to my friends and hope to return some time in the future.
