I was shopping around for a hotel this past weekend and found this new hotel. I had a great stay and won't hesitate to book again if the price is right. The rooms are huge. The staff were excellent...Morris and Solomon at the bell desk downstairs and the bellmen upstairs were great. Tia at the front desk was very pleasant and efficient. The housekeeping staff were wonderful. The hotel is in Battery Park which is a great location if you like to walk and run along the waterfront and explore Tribeca, SOHO and the West Village. If you like good there are good choices all around, with outposts of Shake Shack and Blue Smoke in the same building. If you like shopping Century 21 is a seven-minute walk.

Room Tip: I asked for a room with a view, and got a lovely window overlooking the Hudson River. My room was on the 10th floor and it was very quiet.

Conrad in Battery City
A great new hotel in the financial district - 15 floors with very large rooms.
Great to have a lot of space - a bedroom and a sitting room both with large flat screen TV's, bathroom and separate shower/wet room. 'Bar' area with a nespresso machine, sink and mini bar.
The roof top bar is great but a little small and a beer is $11 so probably not somewhere to spend all night, but well worth a visit.
A few cab drivers didn't know where the hotel was but point them to PJ Clarkes or the American Express tower and they will soon find it.
There are plenty of eating and drinking options near by so no need to stay in the hotel and the subway and PATH are a 5 minute walk over the bridge.

Room Tip: as always, a high floor is preferable for a good nights sleep

This is a great hotel -- new, modern, beautiful rooms. I was a little hesitant about the location since this was a leisure stay, but I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. The main reason we stayed there was because it's one of the rare properties in NYC that allows large dogs. We were traveling with our 70-lb dog and most hotels in NYC have a max of 25 lbs. Conrad allows up to 75 lbs and doesn't charge an extra fee. Kudos to Conrad -- you'd never know our dog was there and he certainly leaves less evidence than most children! And as a bonus, their policy got me to try their hotel and we've now become big fans and will return even when we don't have our dog with us. I travel to NYC about 5-10 times a year on business, and will try to stay at the Conrad from now on.

The surrounding area of Battery Park City is great -- you have the whole west side Henry Hudson park, lots of green parks, playgrounds, waterfront restaurants... really nice.

We got upgraded to a corner suite through the e-standby upgrade program, for $70/night, and it was well worth it. Our suite was HUGE and beautiful. It was larger than most one-bedroom apartments I've seen in NYC.

You can't go wrong with this hotel, I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We got upgraded to a corner suite and loved it. It cost an extra $70/night and I would definitely pay that amount again. You get a ton of extra space for that price, so if you're not going to spend much time in the room and don't need extra space, then maybe don't bother with the upgrade.

Recently returned from a five-night stay at the Conrad. We enjoyed our stay. The area is beautiful. We loved the Battery Park area. The bellmen were all outstanding. Very attentive, went above and beyond to assist us. Housekeeping staff were all very nice. Rooms were very clean and furnishings were new. Front desk staff were very professional, helpful, accommodating and friendly. Hotel lobby was gorgeous. Front desk staff advised the concierge would be happy to help us with planning our stay, sightseeing, etc. That was not the case. The concierge was rude and gave us the impression she did not want to be bothered and did not want to help us. Kept insisting we ask specific questions about what we wanted. Would not help us plan anything. Wouldn't give us any information that she had about sightseeing. Said that we should just go look on the computer in the business center and book things oursevles. We noticed there was a different lady at the concierge desk in the evening, but she was as rude and unwelcoming as the lady that was there earlier in the day. Have been treated better from gas station attendants when asking for directions.

Loved the rainfall showerhead in the separate shower. Great concept of having room dividers and separate toilet/sink area from shower. Bad reception on the televisions in the room. They kept coming in and out. Would pause in the middle of programming. No free wi-fi in the rooms was very dissapointing as was no refrigerator without a $25.00 nightly charge to use. The refrigerator that comes in the room is stocked with drinks and snacks that all come with a price.

Nice places to eat downstairs -- Shake Shack has best burgers ever. Pick-A-Bagel is a great deal for breakfast. Francois Payard has the best caramel macaroons. Try them early in the morning. We did not like Harry's Italian Grill. Our food was awful the night we went. That's all I will say about that. Whole Foods a couple of blocks away. Subway was not too far. Movie theater in hotel complex was nice to have. Wonderful lady who does an excellent job at pedicures and manicures in the hotel barber shop. Scott's pizza tour was amazing. Loved Eataly across from Madison Square Park. The food is outstanding, but the watermelon gelato/sorbet was absolutely delicious. Overall our stay was great.

Dear smoozches,

I am sorry you did not feel like you had a 5-star experience at during your stay with us. Reading through your review, I am happy to hear you enjoyed the design of the lobby and your suite, the rainfall shower and the local attractions near the hotel. I am also happy to hear the Front Office Staff was helpful and friendly. I will absolutely pass your feedback along regarding concierge to the appropriate person to ensure the matter is addressed and prevented for the future. We hope you will stay with us again.

This was our first stay at this property and it was GREAT! It is right in the vibrant Battery Park area. If your travel is business related and need to be downtown this is a great location. OR if your travel is leisure and you will be going to Brooklyn, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island or the 9/11 memorial this is a great location.
