If you're in the Times Square area, chances are you'll notice BB King's. Should you go in?

For the most part, the rude, RUDE staffers make this place a miss. Everyone I encountered at the club basically acted as though it was a major imposition to answer questions, sell tickets and attend to customers.

Buying tickets for a recent show, I was the only person at the box office. The guy at the window was on the phone...he looked up, saw me, and returned to his conversation. When he finally deigned to put down the phone and sell me a ticket, he was surly and curt.

I will give the club points for decor: it's clean, well-maintaned and designed; and the two performance/dining spaces are lovely. In terms of concerts, BB King's often books artists who don't play elsewhere in the city...the schedule is eclectic and includes a lot of really good bands.

I would agree with what another reviewer has said here: if a band you dig is playing at BB King's, go ahead and buy a ticket. If you're looking for dinner or a more authentic blues or jazz experience, you're better off going elsewhere where the staff will treat you right.

I love Blues, Gospel & Jazz..... I live in CAlifornia & on vacation to NYC I was very excited to have tickets for the Harlem Gospel Choir Sunday Brunch. For $40.00 a person you were to expect a real bruch... it was SO BAD that my husband only had an apple ( they couldn't mess up fruit to bad. REALLY BAD BRUNCH. I dare BB King to actually eat there!

We hit bb king's during Halloween weekend to see the Bacon Brothers play.the band were excellent but the drink prices were outrageous and you were shoehorned into your seating area, they sure know how to pack em in.Food was incredably bland (at rip off prices)all in all the show was good but the food and drink costs were over the top and coupled with the overcrowding i certainly dont rate it value for money.

popped over to bbs from scotland to see robert cray band last year, young bob was his usual brilliant self, good sound system, average food, expensive drink prices, best getting a few beers before you go in, people crammed in to small tables, recommed you only go if their is someone specific you want to see.

The sound in this place is excellent, they've got some great gear in there. The food is pretty average really, it was bordering on lukewarm when I got it so I had to eat it quickly, but it was a great nights entertainment.

After watching the band you pay to see in the restaurant area, you can go to Lucilles for free which is just next door, that had some Blues music on and it was to a high standard.

If you're stuck for something to do at 6pm (as we were) and you fancy whatever's on, go for it, just don't expect a great meal.
