Description: Pane e Vino is an Italian Restaurant located on Manhattan Upper East Side in the vicinity of the flagship Bloomingdale's store on Lexington Avenue. It's creative menu, attractive location and experienced team offer an inviting fair right here in New York City. Pane e Vino's proximity to Bloomingdale's makes this a perfect spot for pre or post shopping dinning. Is all about wine, great food and good times at Pane e Vino.

Pane e Vino offers nice ambiance, great Italian fare, and impeccable service. They don't mind fulfilling special requests, which is important to me due to some dietary restrictions. They have a nice wine list, and their wine-by-the-glass is served in a small carafe that is actually two glasses. The complimentary biscotti that is served when ordering coffee is very flavorful and light. Occasionally, they also serve a complimentary limoncello at the close of the meal.

We were shopping and stopped in for an early dinner. The food was good and so was the wine list. The maitre d' was charming but our server had no personality and was the only thing we did not like at this restaurant. Maybe he was having a bad day.

This is a nice place. The wait staff are friendly and attentive, and there is good vibe here. The food presentation is weak however. Had the scallops and clams, which was poorly presented and you got three of each. The clams were breaded but silty; I felt like I broke a tooth on two of them. The Caesar salad was sopped in dressing; there was no crispness on the lettuce. We had the rigatoni with meat sauce and a daily special of veal pounded thin. The former had little to no flavor; the latter was more breading than veal, more like wiener schnitzel. With entrees mostly around $22-24 to have the latter at $35 was a shock. It is a shame as the atmosphere and service set up a great expectation.

Lovely Italian restaurant. Reasonably quiet, had a breast of chicken with a Portabello mushroom for under $20. Did not feel rushed on a Thursday night. Two softshell crabs, in season on special for $30. I’d go there again.

Two friends and I meet at Pane e Vino each month. We stumbled into it some time ago and were charmed by the attentive maitre/owner, the high quality of the meal, the quiet, and the sense that we could indeed sit there all afternoon should we wish. It is close to Bloomingdale's, which makes the quiet an even greater blessing. Thank you.
