“Great restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

The food was excellent, and of the highest quality. The service was excellent. Considering this, the price of the meal is definitely not high, but of course in another division than fast food stores. We will give Danji our warmest recommendations, and suggest to visit this restaurant beore watching a show at Broadway. There are only approx 40 seats in the restaurant, and a good tip is to visit this quite early in the evening.

“Average food, small portions, and expensive”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013

After reading a mixture of positive and negative reviews, I decided to just go ahead and try this restaurant with my parents during our trip to NY. Needless to say, I must agree more with the negative reviews.

We went for dinner on a Monday evening and were seated right away. Although the server was generally nice, customer service seemed to lack on the hostess' end. When we were seated at the long table next to the wall, I had an Evian bottle water on the table tucked against the wall corner (which I didn't plan on drinking during the meal by the way). Somehow the hostess seemed to think it was a good idea to awkwardly reach behind me and get within less than a foot of my face to grab the water bottle and put it on the floor. Apparently, it didn't occur to her that a simple verbal request would have sufficed.

The plates were small and pricey, and I wasn't blown away by them. We ordered:

- bulgogi beef sliders
- poached sablefish w. spicy daikon
- vermicelli noodles w. beef & korean peppers
- tofu w. ginger scallion dressing
- 'danji' braised short ribs w. fingerlings

When I requested to have these dishes come out around the same time, the server stated he can only bring one dish out at a time so that customers can experience and savor the flavor. So when the server brought out one mediocre dish out at a time, I was left to ponder between each dish on where we could eat afterwards to fill the remaining part of our hunger. After the fifth dish, we decided to just leave and eat somewhere else. I wouldn't mind paying a high amount for excellent food, but for mediocre food? No thanks.

My advice? Save your money as there are plenty of other great food options in NY.

“Delicious but pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

Went here for lunch midweek at a friend's recommendation. Lovely little spot and the food is wonderful. We had bulgogi sliders and hot & spicy pork noodles with soft boiled egg and both were absolutely mouthwatering. Very spicy!

They open at noon, so be standing there ready to enter, because it's a very small place.

The thing is, when they say "small plates" they are not kidding. The sliders are the size of a half dollar; you get two. The noodles come in a bowl barely bigger than a coffee cup. Maybe get more than one item? They're $12 each, which makes for an expensive lunch.

Blondie, at 16, loved his meal, but when we left he said, "Mom, I'm hungry, can we get something else?" So not the place for teenagers who eat every fifteen minutes! Try Sapporo instead.

Highly recommended for us older folks who can savor and enjoy a small amount of incredibly delicious food!

“Great food, cozy place and kind service”

A very pleasant restaurant, with good cocktails and a very interesting menu - pick your selection of small dishes to share from the two menus with traditional and modern korean food.

Don't leave without trying the pork!!

“Delicious Korean tapas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

We managed to bag a table here early on a Monday evening. The food was delicious. Staff delighted and attentive. We even took our kids age 4 and 9. The ginger margarita were to die for, the sliders and calamari went down a treat for the kids. Whilst we loved the spicy wings, salad and the fish stew and beef rib. We ordered too much... We just couldn't decide. When we left the queue was out the door... Says it all!
