The comfort food here is excellent. Might be the best fried chicken I ever had. This place is not the first stop for locals, but I am a local and I very much enjoyed it.

Third or fourth visit here. everything was tasty and perfect. Many of the items are the same as last year, no big deal I suppose. Loved the crab cocktail, the goat meat appetizer and the blackened catfish, soooooooooooooooooo good. Nice Obamatini cocktail and selection of beers; the music on that Tuesday night was very good, makes for a loud evening, what can you do? the waitstaff were pleasant and smiling and efficient and even the manager came up to introduce himself, a nice touch. My friend charles visiting for the first time said he'd definitely be back....
I once had brunch here and liked it,too.

This is currently 'the celebrity restaurant' in Harlem. There is a good atmosphere but unfortunately the food is not in the same category. I would suggest this is a lunch/brunch venue but not somewhere for a special dinner. There are a lot of tourists and this is probably why they get away with mediocre food. The staff were pleasant and did take note when I complained about my meal but overall it was disappointing. Convenient for the subway.

We loved this restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic. There was live jazz playing all night. The decor was interesting and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, attentive and efficient. The food was fantastic. We had a tandoori salmon with cauliflower mash and fried yard bird and mash - and oh that mash and the sauce for the chicken were divine! This restaurant is a must if you like great food, a great experience and having a fun night. Highly recommend!

Red Rooster Harlem is a dream come true, a Utopian concept for what a restaurant can achieve in a neighborhood. The food is truly melting pot American, with Ethiopian, Swedish, Hispanic and Asian influences all playing together in the same laboratory. The crowd is diverse, hip, and busting out the doors. The music (we were there on a Monday - highly recommended!) was also diverse and an acoustic melting pot.
Standout dishes were the teff ramen (with crab, pork belly, head-on shrimp, and kimchi!) and the goat tostados. Plan to order a ton of food to share and stay for the music. The sauvignon blanc on tap was unfussy and delicious.
Our evening gave us a glimpse of what America can be at its best - artistic, vibrant, and tons of fun.
