“Bohemian Blue Hill alternative”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

If you are twenty something and want to see what the Village scene used to look like before gentrification then this is your place. Middle of nowhere next to Chinatown, Fat Radish has a funky menu of fresh veg fish and other options. The food I found was good enough but not really worth the commute.

If you are looking for exceptional food fresh from the farm and a village setting then try Blue Hill instead. And if you're 40 or older, you will have added reason to consider this suggestion. Fat Radish has a nice carefully considered grunge element to it that appeals more likely to the younger crowd.

“Very nice ambience,below average food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

Very nice place and atmosphere .
The service not good, too many mistakes and confusion.
The rest is,in my opinion, cooked to heavily ,with too much of unnecessary sauces and stuff that end up on killing the main ingredient

“Very nice brunch in funky NY style place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed a great sunday brunch here, had the avocado with spicy eggs on whole wheat bread, the burger (good but heavy) and some english style sausages as side. Some healthy juices and wine and all four of us were happy. Only thing that needs improvement is the coffee... (french press only)

“A nice surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013

We were nearby at the Tenement Museum. We walked in circa Sunday brunch time and were lucky to get one of two two-tops available. (When we left, there was a line.) Pretty decor. White washed brick. Menu veers toward English and vegetable. I had an egg white omelet with greens, herbs and ricotta-delish-about $12 I think. Between Hester and Canal on a to-be gentrified block of Orchard St. with emerging galleries several blocks south of the Tenement Museum

Food was superb and atmosphere great. Would recommend booking as we walked in on Friday night and were lucky to get a seat at a bar, lovely all the same
