Description: Are you in the mood for Mexican food tonight? How about some Argentinean too? And maybe a little Chilean while we’re at it? Well, now you can get it all at one restaurant – Oficina Latina, a popular Latin American restaurant in New York City's Nolita. Oficina Latina calls itself a pan-American bistro, and features cuisines from a number of South and Central American countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Chile, Costa Rica and Panama. Best of all, the restaurant organizes its menu by country, so you can pick your dish by destination. Want a taste of Peru? Try the Ceviche de Calamari y Vieras. Craving Venezuelan? Order the Arepas Mixtas. Cuban food on the brain? Get the Cubano, of course! Oficina Latina has all of these cuisines – and more – and prepares them all well. The restaurant offers a daily fresh cocktail selection as well, featuring an interesting wine list from the major Latin American regions, and a few beers from Central and South America.

Love love love this place. Judging by the crowds, everyone else loves it too! We started with chips and guac. The chips were nice and thick and clearly made in house. The guacamole was fresh and spicy. We saw a group of girls celebrating with little beakers of alcohol and lines of sugar, cocoa and cinnamon. We ordered a couple along with some tapas and was in heaven. For our main we split the paella. Tacos were 3/$10, paella was $20. Great bargain!

The first thing I noticed at Oficina Latina was the trendy, low-key vibe which I expected (and appreciated) in Soho. The place was cozy with dim lighting and cool South American decor. The menu had both seafood and non-seafood options from Mexico, Venezuela or Peru. The food was good although not 100% memorable. I recommend the shrimp tacos as a starter and the blackberry Caipirinha for a cocktail. I'm rating Oficina Latina an average because the service was awkward and confusing. Our waiter was uncomfortably loud and approached our table multiple times even after we assured him we were okay. I honestly thought he had a mild case of amnesia. Even the busboys seemed misinformed. Overall, okay food, delicious cocktails, laid-back ambience yet mediocre staff.

Restaurant serving very good food with their vision of mexican plates. The servings are not very abundant so we had to order several plates (3) per person to call it a dinner. Great service and atmosphere. The cocktails were fair. Recommended for a nice evening in good company.

I popped in here for a few drinks and ended up staying here for the whole night. Sarcastic but kind bar tenders prepared us real Latin drinks after drinks and sooner than I realised, we had to stay in for a dinner. Luckily food was good. We ate home made nachos with salsa and pork tacos. Great music is played here as well.
