We were in the mood for bistro dining and our usual haunt had a half hour wait so we sauntered down First Avenue to Bistro D'a Cote. First off, when butter comes wrapped in foil I know the experience is going to be a step down from memorable. The accompanying bread was a warm. We shared a salad, I had steak frites, my husband roast chicken. The steak was o.k., the portion fine, not huge so I didn't feel guilty finishing it. The portion of frites was small, they werent crisp. My husband's checked was ok. He finished it but wasn't happy with the moist but not chirp skin. We had three glasses of wine in total, bill with tip $130, certainly not cheap. We saw other couples digging into mussels, I guess that the thing to order.
