We really wanted to visit a steakhouse during our recent stay in New York but we were a little wary of justifying a $50 steak plus sides in some of the more renowned restaurants in Manhattan. We came here and were not disapointed. The Porterhouse served us both and we had sides and drinks without feeling conscious of the final bill.
We love our meat and have had some great steaks across the world and were very pleased with the quality and service at West Side. If you want something super special then we can't comment on comparisons to the Smith and Wolensky or Peter Luger style steakhouses, but you really can't be worried about spending $200 for two in that case.
We enjoyed a very good meal for half that.
