It was awesome to see especially because it's so old. It is next to the Met but we didn't know that when we set out to find it.

Always wanted to see Cleo's Needle on the Thames Embankment but this will do nicely too.
Bit of a walk around the Met.Museum building, but weather was nice for photos.

This is a great landmark but as someone else mentioned it is just something to look at and then off to the next thing. My son had to do central park and just wanted to see this. We were actually in a hurry because we wanted to escape the winter storm that was coming so it was a quick stop.

We were on a biking tour in Central Park by ourselves and decided to stop at this cool landmark. We snapped a couple photos and were on our way. It's something to look at and not something to do. The texture was beautiful and if you're into Egyptian things you'll find this very cool. We liked it, we photographed it, we moved on.

We made a special walk through the park to see the ancient obelisk known as Cleopatra's needle. We were not alone. Photographers and artists had made the trek as well. Dating from 1450 BC, many of the hieroglyphs are worn away, but what remains has been translated. If you make the gentle climb to the base, there are benches to sit on, sponsored by people famous and modest, including chicken magnate Frank Perdue!
