My wife & I stayed for a Saturday in NYC and were able to checkin early and store bags for our later departure. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous! The location is excellent---walking distance to Penn Station. Rooms though are very small....basically "a bed & a shower." But appropriate for NYC. Breakfast is a nice setting and warm cookies were available in the afternoon.

Room Tip: Call in the morning of your stay.

Have just stayed twice over a 2 week period in this hotel. Very central, Buffet breakfast suited us although didnt try the microwabeable food not too keen on that. First visit our room was a little small, but we were upgraded after 1st night. Staff were extremely helpful, everytime we returned from our day out they would ask us how it was and where we had been, they were interested rather than the normal polite feeling olbiged to ask. Andre the manager was brilliant also Andrew and the other guy who I think was Dan and also the girls, will definitely stay there again. My husband does alot of business in the US and always stays in Marriots but even he said the staff were brilliant.

The rooms here are very nice (updated, clean and not a bad size for NYC) and the location is great. The lack of customer service my entire trip was very disappointing though (no rooms ready at check in, multiple times there was no staff at the desk, no valet or doorman to help with bags, etc.). During the check in process the woman behind the desk even stopped several times to text on her cell phone. Other reviews of the hotel are very positive so maybe I just got the staff on an off week but I definitely won't be staying there again to see if the service improves.

I just wanted to echo what a lot of the people have said recently about this property. The hotel is fairly new and even though the rooms are small, they are very well designed to maximize the use of the limited space. Staff was extremely cheery and helpful which highlighted the trip. The location can't be beat and the smell of all the flowers and plants from the shops around the hotel is really nice first thing in the morning. One minor issue was that the alarm clock in the vacant next room went off at 6:00 AM one morning and totally disrupted any hopes of slightly sleeping in; but that's not really the hotel's fault but it does show that the walls aren't too thick.

Having siad that, I would have no hesitation staying here again given the right price. One final thing...the $25 a night rate for parking is a relative steal for the area.

Stayed 6 nights as a treat for daughter's 18th birthday. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. Rooms are quite small but very well set out and equipped. Bathrooms good with large walk-in shower, vanity unity, plenty of towels. Beds very comfortable. Only a few rooms on each floor so very little disturbance from other guests etc. We found the included breakfast to be a real bonus - saved a lot of time each morning looking for places to eat. Juices, fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, toast, eggs, etc. Tea and coffee available all day. Cookies at reception too! Great location in the Chelsea flower market area, near two subway stations so easy journeys uptown and downtown. Plenty of local shops, delis etc. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely like to return.

We came into town to watch a Yankees game and eat a wonderful steak house. Were able to do both and this hotel was perfect. Central location to other friends who lived in the city and we'd go back to this hotel in a heartbeat.
Andrew at the front counter was terrific. Understands hospitality and was extremely professional.

We visited NYC on April 16, 2011 to see a couple of Broadway shows (The Addams Family and Billy Elliott. Both were very good, but I liked the former better, but that's for another review.)

For 30,000 Marriott points, my out of pocket cost at this hotel was zero. Because we checked into the hotel early, our upper floor room was not ready, so we agreed to stay in Room 207 on the second floor. Room 207 was absolutely the smallest hotel room I had ever seen. It was smaller than my office. My estimate of the room size, not counting the bathroom, is 8 feet by 12 feet. (Maybe Andre can provide the exact dimensions when he sees this review.) From what I can tell, all of the rooms are situated around the two elevators. I can only assume that this is the smallest room size in the hotel and that my reserved room would have been larger. Perhaps Andre can arrange for a partial credit of some Marriott points back into my account.

I must say that I was able to sleep later than I had over the past year or so. This room was very quiet since it is situated on the backside of 28th street as opposed to being on the front side. My wife said that she heard the elevators every time they stopped on our floor, but I did not hear a thing. The mattress was very comfortable too.

Because the hotel has been in operation since December 2010, according to what I was told by one of the hotel staff, everything was in fine working order and the room was very clean. The room had a nice high def TV, probably about 42 inches or so.

This room is fine for a one night stand, or if you're in NYC for business, this room will do. The breakfast that comes with the room is one of the best of seen for this type of arrangement. The breakfast room is very nicely laid out and a good place to hang out at the end of the night before retiring to the room. There's a nice large flat screen TV and two computers available to use at no charge.

The location is not bad either. Its an easy walk up to Times Square and the Theatre District. Or, if you're lazy you can take the subway which is only a block away. Make sure to pick up some flowers or plants right outside the front door of the hotel as there are plenty to choose from.
