Hal our awesome guide walked us ragged and talked us ragged. He knew facts beyond human comprehension and for 75yrs many in our group had hard time keeping up with him! He gave us great tips on what to see and what not and was so personable. I highly recommend this tour and was not one bit afraid to go on that subway with Hal, it was my first time on a subway and even though I didn't get that card right as he explained, he was gentle in making fun of me! About 14 in our group, got us to 9/11 Memorial (on our own) then met up and got us to ferry to Status of Liberty and then he departed and we went to Ellis Isl and back to financial district....a very good tour if you like to walk and price was right. Highly recommend this tour company and Hal....other tour companies hawk on the streets and I'm so glad I decided on this one.

I was visiting my daughter in New York City recently and we booked a private tour of the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero with an excellent private tour guide, Hal Glicksman. With Hal we were able to bypass all the lines. We also went to the Statue of Liberty. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Next time I'm in New York City, I plan to contact Hal because not only does he knows every nook and cranny, but he is extremely knowledgeable and very funny, too!

The tour was great - Ground Zero & Statue of Liberty. The best part of the tour was our guide Hal, a 74 year old New Yorker who put everyone to shame in terms of walking. Hal had great stories, a witty and fun sense of humour and added a few extras that made the tour unique. For example, he took us to the memorial at the American Express building which was extremely touching and memorable. He told us about the etching kits at Ground Zero that are not readily available or known about. Hal told us the story of Richard Rescorla of Morgan Stanley (I still get goosebumps) and many other interesting facts throughout the tour. We would love to take another tour like this one the next time we visit, and will ask for Hal. The only negative (outside of NYCVP's control) is that we couldn't go into the Statue of Liberty - maybe next time! Heather, Chris, Catherine & Holly from Toronto

We wanted to see the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 memorial and debated just going on our own, but in the end decided on the tour that includes both sites as well as Ellis Island. What a great decision! Our guide, Marc Landman, is a true walking encyclopedia of everything to do with New York, beginning with a history of the subway as he guided us there. He explained everything about the routes, how to get through the turnstile - everything we, as rubes, needed to know to feel comfortable doing it again on our own. The nice thing about this tour is that there are ample opportunities to leave the group and go on your own. For instance, if you want to stay longer at the Statue of Liberty, the guide explains how to get to the next stop at your leisure. We were a little surprised that he did not take us to the 9/11 Memorial because it was listed as part of the tour. But when we got there (using his very detailed directions), we understood why - you don't need a guide there, just time to reflect on the magnitude of the tragedy. Marc made sure we knew how to get back to our next destination before leaving us. The description of the tour tells you that the tour ends at the last stop - you have to make your own way back to wherever you're going. Yet Marc willingly accompanied a woman and her grandson back to their hotel because she was nervous going it alone. Marc never stopped sharing information, about the Statue, Ellis Island, New York in general, and the Jets. We loved every minute of it and left feeling confident about our ability to navigate the city, as well as grateful for everything we learned and saw.

We took the WTC Memorial and Lower Manhattan Tour with Michael Dillinger last Saturday. He is a well-informed and delightful person and conducts a group tour with grace...not an easy task. We will definitely try to book another tour with him when we are back in New York.

Thanks, Michael
