A classic old hotel with good sized rooms and excellent staff. The price was very reasonable by New York standards and the location is central. Being on Lexington and 39th you have great access to taxis even in the worst of weather. Grand Central is just a few blocks away. There are great restaurants within blocks of hotel and hole in the wall diners that serve great food at great prices. Try a full breakfast at Scott's for $12 just around the corner or the Italian restaurant right across the street (salad, entrée, 2 glasses of wine and tip $40). Park Tavern just up the block, great food and drinks, but a little more pricey. At one point I was in New York 40+ days a year and this hotel made it comfortable and was a refuge.

Room Tip: Higher Floors are better because of traffic on Lex and 39th. Rooms on backside of hotel are very qui...

This is my second time staying at The Court. I stayed with my fiancee. Our room was upgraded when we arrived.

-The room was very clean and organized. There was a good-quality radio with an iPod player.
-The bathroom was of a decent size and clean.
-Continental breakfast was included.
-The staff was friendly and professional.
-The only negative comment I have is that the heater seemed not to work. I maxed out the temperature on the thermostat and did not feel anything coming out of the heater next to the window. The room felt chilly at times. I didn't report this though, so the hotel staff didn't know.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

We love the location of the hotel! Perfect for walking to 5th, grand central station...and the night life of Murray Hill. Our room however wasn't anything to brag about. The chase was awful...you can tell when they clean they definitely spot clean. Our room wasn't ready so the upgrade us to a suit with one king and a living area with a fold out bed. We were told all we would have to do is let them know when to turn down the bed...well needless to say after asking twice...and arriving home at 4am the bed wasn't turned down! The next day we asked to have the room cleaned and bed turned down again....we got back after being gone for 6 hrs bed still not turn down....and the room was the worse cleaning job I ever seen for an up scale hotel. It definitely did not have me wanting to come back. I love the location and my next visit will plan a different hotel close by.

Got this hotel for $179 a night. It was definitely a worthwhile stay - all the amenities - including iron/ironing board in room and cotton bathrobe. Only thing missing was an in-room coffee maker. Lots of space for a NY hotel, including a walk-in closet. Location: 4 blocks from Grand Central, at 39th and Lexington. Definitely worthwhile.

This is a well priced and central hotel. It is comfortable and the rooms are above average size by NYC standards. It could use a bit of upkeep but generally the rooms were in good working order and had everything you needed in a basic way.

I liked it had a fridge to put drinks in. The bathroom was large with great water pressure and good shower.

I didn't sleep well in the 6 nights I stayed there though for two reasons. Firstly the AC unit in the room sounds like a diesel engine and you need it because you can't open the window to cool the room down because it's so noisy outside.

Also the breakfast (which was included) was extremely basic and being on a low sugar low carb diet I had to make do with half a grapefuit and coffee, or order something off the menu which defeats the purpose of having breakfast included. There was basically nothing I could eat so I would have liked the addition of eggs or more variety on the breakfast buffet.

For NYC this is an acceptable hotel. It's well located, clean, safe and comfortable.

I would go there again but possibly not my first choice.

Room Tip: Please ask for a quite room not facing 39th or Lexington.

I've stayed in a dozen+ hotels in NYC, includig the Ws, Waldorf, Satai, and boutiques. We stayed in room 515 which was enormous by NYC standards. Room was clean but there were a few upkeep/cosmetic things that needed TLC. Nothing that's not expected in an old building or would keep me from going back. Decor is modern but not obnoxiously so. Lobby is small but bar and pool room are nice and cozy. Staff were very helpful and it's 3 blocks from grand central. For the price and size of room, this was a steal.

We stayed here from New Years eve till 3rd January 2014. Excellent location for all the sites and were pleased to be upgraded to a suite on our arrival. The staff were very helpful and friendly from the reception to the porter to the cleaners. The suite was huge, we had a separate lounge area which had a large sofa and two easy chairs with two foot rests. Large desk area and a massive bedroom. TV in both bedroom and lounge. The only down was the size of the bathroom. Really don't understand why hotels like this bother with a bath just have a large walkin shower, much better. Had a room safe, dressing table area and a verandah. We didn't eat here though. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice location to do the sites. Short walk from Grand Central Station, The Empire State Building and The Chrysler Building. Subway not far either for a trip to The Statue of Liberty and 9/11. Excellent. Thanks guys for making our stay so good.
