The Court – A St Giles Hotel
Ranked #331 of 469 Hotels in New York City
Reviewed September 3, 2013

The hotel met all of our requirements for our family of four, including two teenagers. As said many times before, the hotel's location is central to all of New York. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was a good size and provided a good nights sleep after busy days of exploring the city.
We had a quiet room with a great view of the Empire State Building.
I would have preferred a fridge instead of a mini bar. There are lots of places nearby to get snacks, drinks, etc.
Grand Central is a short walk to access the subway system. We walked to Times Square from the hotel. The Newark airport bus stop is 2 streets over.
Overall, a great experience.

Reminiscent of a W Hotel. Rooms good size, modern and clean. Great location on pretty tree lined Lexington Avenue. Trendy bar and restaurant within hotel.. Close to Grand Central. Reasonable rates - good value for the money. Across the street from a great gluten free bakery.

I found this hotel at the last minute and was very pleased! The location was perfect for us as I needed a place close to Grand Central. Upon check-in, Daniel was very pleasant and helpful. I was travelling with my teenage daughter and he asked if I needed 2 beds and then proceeded to upgrade us with a "suite" style room. He foresaw our needs and asked before I had to! He went out of his way to make us comfortable. The room was quite, clean, nicely appointed and very spacious! And, I got it at a bargain rate! The bellman stored our bags for us the next day so we could walk around the area before we had to leave for he airport. He, too, was very friendly and accommodating. The only person I encountered that was a bit curt and not as friendly, was the woman that answered the phone in the morning when I called down for a late check out. I don't remember her name, but she was neither pleasant nor friendly! Oh well - the rest of the stay was great!

This hotel is located in a great area of NYC - Murray Hill. It's very convenient to LaGuardia airport. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We were on the 10th floor and had a "view" of the courtyard and other buildings, but it was very quiet. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We did not try the breakfast or have a drink in the bar, but the restaurant and the bar looked nice. For a great breakfast for a equally great price, try Scotty's Diner, just around the corner on Lexington.

This is a great hotel to stay for the budget minded. The hotel staff is wonderful (very friendly and helpful) and the room that I stayed in was huge. It was a pleasant surprise to get upgraded to a suite that included a separate bedroom, living area and plenty of closet space. The room was very clean with gently worn furnishings. If your not set on staying at a super chic hotel, this is a very nice option. They don't offer room service but have a restaurant off the lobby that serves a wonderful breakfast. The location is great and within walking distance to a number of good restaurants and attractions. It's definitely a place to return to.

Room Tip: Ask for a upgrade. I received one without asking but it may have had to do with their occupancy.

Everything about the stay was easy and pleasant. The front desk staff was very efficient for check-in and check-out. The room could use a little updating, but it was clean and very large (I had a bedroom with an adjoining living room). The purpose of my trip to NY was to help my daughter move into her new apartment. We needed transportation to shop for furniture in NJ. The concierge made a quick call and we had a driver in an SUV within minutes.

The location is fabulous. Close to Grand Central Station and walking distance to great shopping and local attractions. I will definitely stay at The Court again.

If you need to be near Grand Central station, then you should check out this hotel. Let's face it, NYC is full of bland hotel chains with pokey little rooms at outrageous prices. Well, I booked online direct with the hotel and got a huge room - large bedroom, large bathroom and large living room as well for 33% less than what Hilton, Hyatt and Westin were offering. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so food options are plentiful. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet and so I slept well at the end of a busy business trip,
