Apart from the size of the rooms (huge), everything at this hotel was mediocre. We will spend our money elsewhere next time.

Spacious room with all required facilities. Close to Grand Central Station, Subway, fifth avenue and all other parts of Manhattan. Will be a good option for family as well. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.

This used to be a W, and I am not sure there has been many updates since, but nonetheless, I like it! I love the location, just a few blocks from Grand Central, and the staff are consistently nice, accommodating, and friendly. The rooms are typically larger than most NYC rooms and once in a while you get an upgrade to a mini-suite. The furniture is sort of dated, but i can overlook all that as the price can be good!

On this last visit, my colleague checked in after me and he was given an upgrade to the executive suite, which was massive!

Overall great location, staff, and value!

This hotel was great! really close to grand central station and access to all the subway lines! lots of food and shops nearby to buy water, snacks, etc. The room was also huge for a NYC hotel. Clean modern rooms and bathroom. I would definitely stay here again! Also check out aroma cafe near by for their croissants and coffee!

The service was excellent as well. They let us check in super early and check our luggage the day we left!

If you are on a sight-seeting break then you can do no wrong with this place. As everyone says the rooms are genorus in size with a lovely Chaise-lounge, big TV (all the channels you will need) and the minbar and wardrobe tucked away in an alcove, further helping with the feeling of space. There is also an ironing board/iron which is always so useful.

The bathroom is not luxurious, as a little tired and basic, but again good size with nice white robs, towels and toliteries. We had a problem with a slow draining/leaking sink which they fixed immediately.

The bed is GREAT - slept better than did at home.

Air-con is noisy, like sleeping in a plane. And as it was 40 degress (100f), we had no choice but to keep it on all the time. But luckily so tired each night it didn't keep us awake.

The bar downstairs is great, funky and quite a hot-spot it seems.

At reception they had a nice touch of putting out little cakes on a daily basis. Guys on the door are lovely.

Location is excellant.

Room Tip: Ask for one on a high floor

This hotel seems to attract more international travelers, but we Californians were very comfortable here. A nice sized room, which was remarkably quiet for NYC; we faced a courtyard, not a street, and we'd suggest you ask for that. Easy to get everywhere on foot or otherwise. Room was clean, well-looked after, and staff was very very helpful. We had arrrived very late and tired, and the man who helped us with our bags went out of his way to be sure we were comfortable; the first room he took us to was noisy, and on his own, he got us that quieter room.
