This was my second time in this hotel, even better than the first time I would say. Excellent location (walking distance 42nd St.), great service (everything Works as it should), good price (reasonable). Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Pro: Hotel close to Times Square and theaters, Able to check in early, no problem with check out. Staff helpful in giving suggestions on where to eat.
Con: rooms small but not a problem since we sent the day away from the hotel. Wifi is not free as some websites state.

Thought we would have some fun and choose a more modern hotel than we usually stay at for a recent family jaunt to NYC. The Row was definitely that. We had a corner room that was comfortable enough although it felt dorm-like to me and an odd mix of updated furnishings with an old bathroom that just felt like it got overlooked in the redo. Also; we were up pretty high and could hear every street noise there was, including the crowds a block over at Times Square. definitely can tell this is an old building with not much in the way of soundproofing. Our daughter who had another room also reported she could hear the family next to her plain as day including the bed-time story being read to the kids.
What really set us over the edge though was the sensory overload that is the lobby. We arrive late on a Friday evening and the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other. Even at 8pm the line for check-in was interminable. During the rest of our stay it never was a welcoming oasis from the streets when we would return - no matter the time of day it was loud, crowded and dark.
Even our 19 year old was overwhelmed so I'm not really sure what it takes to love this hotel. I can't say we would ever return. But we're just old grumpy Midwesterners I guess.

akw46845, thank you for taking the time to share you thoughts.

We're sorry to hear the ROW experience was not quite what you and your family was looking for. With over 1300 rooms, we can understand how it might be overwhelming for certain guests.

We'll be sure to pass your experience on to our management team for further consideration. We always appreciate feedback from our guests, and take it as a chance to improve.

Once more, thank you for the input. We hope you'll decide to give us another chance, grumpy Midwesterners or not! Have a great day, akw.

Everything was great besides the house keeper who attempted push our door open at like 8:30 in the morning and the two rude elevator guy, 1 who was ignorant when I asked about water and ice machine & the other who rudly asked for our room ket multiple times while we were already pulling it out.
