I can really only reiterate everything that has already been said in past reviews, but it is all true and none of it is exaggerated. I've always found the hotel / B&B situation in NYC a minor disaster, but now feel like I've finally found the perfect place.
We stayed with Heidi and Tom for five days in April. They were extremely nice and helpful, there's an open kitchen for everyone to use (of which we only used the coffee maker and helped ourselves to some of the fruit that was fresh every day, but it was nice to have the option), and our room was very large, super well maintained, with a really nice King size bed and a very nice bathroom and everything we might have needed.
We also enjoyed staying in Harlem - it felt very safe, was quiet, had a nice neighbor feel, and there were two metro stops nearby, so it didn't take particularly long to get anywhere.
One very small word of caution: you will have to go up at least one staircase, so if you're travelling with someone who has trouble walking, this may not be for you.
For everyone else, it is an extremely nice place with very nice hosts and very good value, and I'll certainly recommend it to everyone I know and hope to come back myself some day.
