This hotel was absolutly perfect. we were staying in a standard room on the 14th floor (out of 15 floors). We had never stayed in new york before and had heard the hotel rooms there, as a standard, were pretty small so our room exceded all expectations as it was bigger than alot, if not all, the hotel rooms id stayed in previously. It was spacious and airy and served as a perfect home away from home. We stayed for 10 days so it was important that we were comfortable.

The rooms were cleaned daily, to a very high standard. Linens were cleaned apon request, daily if you wanted and towels replaced daily also.

It had a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker in the room. we didnt use the microwave but found the fridge really handy for keeping drinks and milk (although provided for coffee, we bought more for cereal).

On the second floor there is a living area which is very comfortable and clean. a place were you can go to use the computers, use the printer, read the newspapers provided, have some complimentive coffee or just relax out of the room if you needed it. The hotel also has complimentary wifi which was so handy for checking things out on our ipods from the room. also there is complementary bottle water on each floor, which was great.

The hotel was in the perfect location for us. within walking distance of times square, right across from the rock (where there is a lovely bar to go at night if you don't want to venture to far at night). There is a pharmacy/ convenience store on the corner of the block which was very handy! Subway station a block away and another a few blocks over, very handy for getting to downtown manhattan or uptown. Within walking distance of central park aswell and right between 5th and 6th avenue! All that and its on a quiet street! Couldnt have asked for much more really.

The staff were all very friendly, apon arrival and throughout our whole stay.

Another thing i must add is, because it is a small hotel there is no waiting on the lift at all, its almost instant! i read in other reviews of hotels that there could be quite a long wait for the elevator because of the number of floors and guests, definatly not a problem here.

Over all, it was excellent. I can see this hotel becoming very popular (as its relatively new) and we were very lucky to have gotten to stay there at the rate we did. we got a bargain!

would stay again and would recommend with confidence to anyone i know, and hope to be back myself.

Location. Location. Location. We stayed at this hotel as part of an air/lodging package and it was perfect. It's located between 5th and 6th Avenue on 51st street. We were very close to Rockefeller Center and walking distance to Times Square and the theater district. The hotel had a "modern" flair and was very clean. We loved the filtered water refill stations on every floor. The front lobby staff were helpful and friendly. We were three to the room and our daughter had a --roll-a-way bed. It was a tight fit but very doable. We went to see the "Today Show" and my husband and I took turns going back to the hotel to get a shower. We ate breakfast in reasonable places on 51st street and enjoyed the convenience of an all night convience/drug store. We could see St. Patricks' from the sidewalk outside the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: say they are a return visitor

We stayed in The Jewel recently. What a fantastic location right opposite The Rocckefeller Centre and with easy access to everywhere in New York. Close enough to walk and opposite subway. The room was good for a major city centre, and had great facilities with wi fi/internet included, free printing of boarding passes etc, coffee and tea in room and ice available to keep your drinks cool which was needed as it was really hot when we went. Top Tip. If you want to see lots, buy a 'New York Pass' exceptional value with included entry into so much, Empire State, View from the Top of Rockeffeler, water taxis, Madam Tusards, bike ride in Central Park, Ground Zero exhibition, Radio City, Aircraft Carrier, loads of museams, MOMA, Natural History, Gaggenau, Museam of Art and so much more plus no queing.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better.

We stayed at the Jewel with my daughter for 10 days and loved a lot of things about it. We enjoyed having filtered chilled water on every floor as well as other conveniences like coffee ,washing machine/drier facilities, etc. They have put a lot of thought into it.
It is very convenient to everything NY has to offer as we were within walking distance of a lot of major attractions, also the subway was nearby for getting to other areas.
The service was very good and the reception staff very friendly and accommodating.
I would highly recommend this hotel .

After arriving back to Norway,we want to send you some feed back from our stay at your hotel 16.june,until 23.june.
We have travelled a lot around in different countries and cities, and we were excited to stay in New York.
We were so pleased with the Jewel, very comfortable rooms, clean,a lot of space.Nice bathrooms, nice living room, and not at least a very nice personal in the reception. The manager, which we just met, should be proud of all the girls working there. They were so helpful, friendly and serviceminded, always smiling.
We will recomend this hotel to all of our contacts, and we will love to stay there again!

With rooms that are very clean, quiet, and comfortable we thoroughly enjoyed our 6 day stay at the Jewel though the rooms are the size of a postage stamp. The bathroom was also small, but adequate, and immaculately clean. With one small closet and little extra room, this might not the place for you if you don’t travel light. I’ll add that our room didn’t have a microwave or refrigerator, but you can share the refrigerator next to the computers on the second floor where they also provide coffee and tea for most of the day. The Jewel has a small fitness room and apparently free washer and dryer on the 5th floor, thought it always seemed to be in use. The staff was as helpful and friendly as we needed.

Other than the small size, our 2nd floor room and queen bed were very comfortable. At night the room was quiet in spite of the modest street traffic. In addition, the air conditioner worked well but was a bit loud, which didn’t bother me but did seem to annoy my wife.

You can’t beat the central Manhattan location of the Jewel, across the street from the B, D, M, & F trains, as well as the proximity to 5th Ave. taxis.

We got a great deal through AAA at $209/night and it appears you can pay well over $300/night on some web sites. Beware that NYC taxes added over $35/night and will be greater for a more expensive room.

In sum, with our small clean room at a great location, we were very happy with our stay and absolutely recommend The Jewel

Room Tip: The Auto Club (AAA) provided the best rate.

The hotel is in an excellent location: in front of Rockefeller Center, near the subway, and any of the buses that pass through the Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The building is new, and very well kept. The staff is very warm and friendly, always solving problems that may happen (in my case, the central air of my room was broken). It's convenient free internet access in rooms, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and especially in summer, water machines on every floor with empty bottles to use. It is certainly a place I will return in the future.

Room Tip: The rooms with the view are incredible
