The good: outstanding cold tomato soup. The watermelon salad with gorganzola cheese was like nothing I've had before. My wife had the pasta with berries which was completely different and completely good.
The bad: my wine glass had food on it...clean it up pls not what you expect from a top 100 restaurant. My red snapper entree was bland and quite honestly tasted like scrod.

Not bad all in all but overrated if you ask me.

We were in NYC for a couple of weeks and ate here twice -- once with our two children and another time with adults. Both meals were tasty and service was good. I'll go back.

We ended here based on a friends recommendation. We went for a pre theater dinner. We were the only customers there around 5pm so we definitely missed out on the ambience. The place is nice and the staff were very friendly. The Chilean Bass was great. Rest of group had pasta. How different could that be. Overall very pleasant meal. Walking distance to theater district.

Staff seem nice enough, but this eatery - like most American Italian restaurants - does not deliver truly authentic Italian food and does not deliver value. I had a pasta dish with shellfish which was decent but not memorable, and, for the price, did not leave me with a good feeling. If you are going to serve pasta and charge a higher price, you should be able to dazzle the senses. Instead, I left a bit dazed that we had spent almost $175 for 2 adult dinners and a child's plate. There aren't great choices in this Midtown area of NY, so go if you're in a bind, go as long as you're ready to shell out some Do-Re-Mi, for, Mama Mia, average Italian fare. Sorry I couldn't be nicer. We had nothing against the service. They seem to want to please the customer. Step it up, is my advice to the management, and deliver something outstanding.

We had the pleasure of dining here while in NYC for the Fancy Food Show. One of our daughter's college friends lives in the city so we always meet her for dinner when we're in town. We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation time but since it was fairly early in the evening, we ere able to be seated promptly. One linen tablecloths, cozy ambiance, and friendly, attentive staff were the order of the day. We ordered a very nice nebbiolo and didn't feel much like appetizers so went right for the entrees. I order the timballo, our friend ordered the squid ink pasta, and my wife ordered the tortellini porcini. Every dish was absolute perfection. the portion sizes were just right, the seasoning was perfect and it was so delicious. Our server was very attentive even though the restaurant was rapidly filling and the number of tables he had grew at a fast pace.

We declined dessert, being too full. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I know we'll be back next year when we're in the city again.
