“Anniversary treat!”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

The accommodation was clean and had everything we required for our stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Outside the accommodation building works meant it was noisy but to be expected. Inside, our room, although lovely had a connecting room which was occupied. Soundproofing is required without a doubt! On saying that the apartments are situated in a perfect position to visit and do all the things New York has to offer. Amazing place. Enjoy !

I stay here often when I have business in the city. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are all spacious, clean and have everything you might need. There is no better place when you need a "home away from home" in NYC.

I challenge anyone to find another hotel with this amount of room, proximity to all sights/attractions/transportation, as clean and as safe for this price anywhere in Manhattan.

I highly recommend.

Although position very good and the bed, linen and towels good the room infrastructure run down with loose wiring.
The Staff were helpful and pleasant.
Being close to a bus interchange it was noisy in late afternoons and early mornings.
We would not stay there again.

Room Tip: Stay on the 41st Street side - ie the front of the the hotel.

I stayed here for a business trip very recently. The positives: Rooms were clean and spacious; they were well designed for age of building; gave me the feeling I was staying in a piece of history. Facility itself probably could have been rated much higher.

The negative: No irons are kept in the room - apparently with good cause!!

I was on a business trip. I had a $100 pair of slacks that needed a little touching up so I called housekeeping. They gave me an iron at the front desk that was extremely unstable and had not been recently checked. It had nasty "stuff" leaking out after I plugged it in (maybe due to local water conditions, so didn't really think much of that once it cleared out). The iron scorched my slacks (literally melted the leg) as soon as I touched the iron to the fabric. Went back downstairs to front desk and informed them of the issue. Was basically treated like an idiot by the front clerk ("Didn't you use a towel to iron them?"). I'm sorry but I'm 50 years old... I think I KNOW how to iron my slacks. I do it every day of the week and never have a problem with an IRON THAT WORKS PROPERLY. Very disappointed in this aspect.

Room Tip: MId-building level was actually better than the higher floor view.

We wanted an apartment rather than a hotel because we have 3 young children (age 4, 6 and 11) and wanted to be able to eat breakfast in the apartment and have some extra space. We were a bit nervous because of how close the railway line was and there had been some mixed reviews but we were very happy with our stay.

We were welcomed by David who was welcoming in a most New York kind of way. We found the apartment clean, modern and spacious. The facilities were fabulous - we had what we needed to prepare our breakfast and make sandwiches for lunch and if we had wanted to prepare dinner at the apartment we could have done that too. We were on the 10th floor which made the noise level less noticeable and we also kept the aircon running which provided some great white noise in the background.

The apartment is in such a fabulous location we were able to walk to so many of the places we wanted to go - even within the limits of our 4 year old daughter.

These apartments would suit people who want to be quite independent - much like living at home while you are away.

If you want to be waited on and have your bed made for you and the floor swept while you are out then this is not the place for you - but that is not what we wanted anyway.

I would totally recommend these apartments and would go there again in a flash

What a great place to stay in ny with a family. Two apartments connecting on level 10 was perfect for the 4, u & 11 year olds + mum and dad. From Dave on the front desk with his ny charm and advice on where to get the best groceries through to having every thing on your door step. Intrepid, Times Square, theatre district, hop on hop off busses, Hell's Kitchen play ground, pen station to storing the bags on the last day.

The rooms are basically equipped, quiet, clean and modern. The only down side was the lack off a lock on the door to the balcony where our seven year old wanted to go all the time.

The price when compared with other options was also great....we had heaps of room and in a motel would have been squashed into a twin room with a rollaway.

Thanks heaps guys!

Pleasantly Surprised. Very easy to book online and check in. Studio was clean and spacious. There was a very large and comfortable bed in the seperate bedroom with a sliding door to small balcony. Nice clean and fresh linens w large comfortable pillows. Large bathroom w large stand up shower was clean and comfortable. A kitchenette w microwave small refridgerator dishes glasses silverware 4 burners stive and coffee pot.... While there were 2 packets of coffee you need to bring your own creamer and sugar.. 4 seat modern table 4 person couch and side chair and a single cot in a little cubby of the living room. The cot was very comfortable. Dreaded it when I looked at it but sat to read and fell asleep it was that comfortable. Flat screen tv in livingroom. The people in the room beside us could be heard thru what I thought was a closet door however they were abnormally loud. For the most part the room and hall were very quiet. Times square was literally up one block and around the corner. Felt safe walking.
