“Fabulous (quiet) retreat in NYC”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

Booked The Pearl on the basis of the fabulous Trip Advisor reviews...we weren't disappointed. Lovely boutique hotel, welcoming, helpful staff and a fabulous retreat minutes from Times Square. The room was exceptionally clean, very spacious, and extremely quiet. This was my fifth trip to New York, and I can honestly say I've never slept as well. There was absolutely no noise from the street, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend. Ideal location handy for subway, but within walking distance of so many places. Wine hour, breakfast and Wi-if just made it the ideal destination. Will definitely revisit!

I chose this hotel based on previous reviews on TripAdvisor, and I was not disappointed. It was in a great location close to Times Square. The hotel was very clean and the staff were super friendly. The room did not feel small or cramped like I hear a lot of hotel rooms are in NYC. The bed was super comfortable, and it sure felt good after a full day of walking around the city! We never made it to the wine hour, but we did enjoy the breakfast. Everything was fresh and much tastier than a typical "continental" style breakfast. The only issue we had was attempting to get a cab to take us to Penn Station. The bellhop was wonderful in attempting to assist us, but the cab drivers were ridiculous. Finally, after 30 minutes we were able to get one to take us where we needed to be. I personally think they just didn't want to fool with driving there at that particular time of day. We would definitely stay here again if we are back in NYC!!

Room Tip: We payed a little extra for the room with a balcony. It was definitely worth it. It was nice to be...

My wife and i stayed in the Pearl for 5 nights as a treat for my 50th birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect, a 30 second walk to Times Square. Service was impeccable with special mention to Roseanna on reception and Jonathan, one of the doormen. Our room was perfect although the air con was rather noisy and therefore couldn't be left on throughout the night. Breakfast was complimentary with plenty of cereal, toast, bagales, yoghurt, fruit etc. Overall an excellent hotel which helped make our time in NYC a fantastic experience.

Has to be one of the best locations if you are up for a Broadway show. Right in the heart of the theatre district. Rooms were nice, staff was nice. Only thing we did not like were the pillows. All were either too lumpy or too hard.

Stayed at this hotel with a friend for 5 days. 2 double beds in room and plenty of space to walk about and very large bathroom which was perfect, even had a TV so you could watch in the bath if you wanted to! The only thing we would have liked would have been a kettle and tea, only coffee provided. Hotel included breakfast although only cereal, fruit and pastries although this was more than enough to start the day's sightseeing. The hotel was in a perfect location midtown with subway and tour buses all very near. There was a theatre across the street and one to the left of the hotel and various other theatres 5 mins away. Right in the heart of Time Square but once inside the hotel was lovely and quiet. There is a small restaurant and bar adjoined to the hotel with a discount for guests. Food was good and is definitely worth at least one meal and drinks to use the discount card. All staff were very helpful and as our car back to the airport didn't arrive the hotel arranged for a car to take us which was a godsend and much better than having to take a taxi as the traffic is horrendous to and from the airport and as much as we loved NYC the taxis are not the best in the world! I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting clean and pleasant surroundings and being a boutique hotel it was not as imposing as most of the big hotels in NYC. Go and enjoy and big thanks to the hotel for helping us get to the airport without missing our flight!

Room Tip: Depending if you are going as a couple or just friends, we had room 506 on 5th floor which was perfe...

This hotel was the best choice possible. It's beautiful, clean, the staff goes above and beyond to accommodate, and the location was perfect. The Pearl is a block from Times Square yet the hotel is very quiet. It is within walking distance to just about everything! The breakfast, wine and cheese hour and free Wi-Fi are great benefits. The bed was very comfortable! This place gets a perfect 10 from us!

Handy location near Times Square, well served by nearby subway stations but easily walkable to Central Park, 5th Avenue, Empire State areas. Modern and well appointed rooms which were a good size. Good breakfast served which was complimentary, very rare in NYC.
Downside...not many good restaurants in the surrounding area, but hotel has a reasonable adjoining restaurant, handy if your exhausted after a days sightseeing!
