We stayed at the Pearl for five nights. The location really can't be beat if you are in town to see shows, as we were. It is a quick walk to Times Square and several theaters are literally steps away from the hotel. Our room was on the third floor and if I stayed again, I would ask to be a bit higher up as the street noise (including raucous crowds for Book of Mormon directly across the street who would come in the afternoon for some sort of ticket raffle) was noticeable. There are earplugs provided in the nightstand! There were four of us sharing a suite with two queen beds and a pull out couch. My teens loved the fact that there were three TVs including one in the bathroom. The bathroom was a bit cramped for four to share, but manageable. The hotel serves a light breakfast in the mornings, although our crew, being on West Coast time, weren't up early enough to take much advantage. The staff is uniformly helpful and friendly. Several good restaurants (Thalia, E&E Grill) close by, plus a grocery that stays open until midnight if you need snacks, drug store, etc is just a half block walk away. Close to Times Square, but not in the "crush" of it.

Room Tip: As I mentioned, I would go for a room that is higher up. I'm sure rooms facing away from the st...

We've been on lots of holidays and paid top dollar for them but this hotel was one of the best if not thee best we've stayed in for many reasons.
Firstly, the location!! I would stay here again for location alone. It is just steps from times square, the subway, a supermarket, directly opposite the most popular show on broadway - The Book of Mormen and a very short walking distance from the main bus station - Port Authority, Rockerfeller centre, 5th avenue and many, many restaurants etc. what we spent on this hotel we saved on buses and taxis.

Secondly, the standard of this hotel interior design is fantastic. The rooms are not just clean, they're very spacious and very well equipped. The Bathrooms even have their own t.v!! the air con works brilliantly and there wasnt a sound to be heard at night. (we were on the 11th floor). The bed was soooo comfortable and so were the pillows that we even bought some to bring home.

The breakfast is way better quality than hot breakfasts I've had before in hotels. Instead of dried up bits of bacon and rubber eggs, we had fresh fruit, yogharts, cereal, fresh selection of pastries, breads and bagels every morning and plenty of tea coffee and oj. It was the perfect start to the day.

Finally, the staff!! We found all the staff to be most helpful and friendly in making our stay comfortable. Christian, the concierge was particularly helpful and pleasant to speak with and also Manuel and the other door men always had a smile and were willing to help with taxis or directions. The hotel is teamed up with a driver who can take you to and from the airport. He was also very nice and we paid a little extra for an SUV because of all our cases but it was worth it.
Overall, if I was going back to NYC, I would definately be booking into the Pearl Hotel and would recommend it to anyone. It definately deserves to be voted no.9 of all hotels in NYC, if not higher.

Room Tip: we were on the 11th floor and found it lovely - a superior queen room. Perfect size and elevators wo...

My family - husband, two kids, aged 12 and 9 - spent part of our spring break in New York City. We had wanted to stay at the Hotel Giraffe because of all the wonderful reviews posted here, but by the time we got around to booking, the rooms were sold out as were so of the other top 5 hotels rated on Trip Advisor. We, however, got lucky with securing a room at the Pearl Hotel located in the heart of Times Square. We were placed on a second floor room, which was somewhat noisy I'm guessing because it was close to the elevators. The room and bathroom was clean and well appointed, but I did complain to about the noise and was given the option of moving to a higher floor if a room become available. We agreed to this and the staff moved us to the 9th floor by the time we got back from our excursions. We quickly found out upon entering the room on the 9th floor that we may have been better off on the 2nd floor despite the noise because the new room was smaller, looks not as well kept at the 2nd floor room - which is conveniently located where the breakfast and wine hour are served, BTW. Anyway, we found some spot on the bed runner and went to the front desk to complain and wanted to move back to our previous room, but the room had been reserved for another quest. The manager, Jaime, did come up a few minutes later and had up upgraded to a fantastic suite on the third floor. We were very appreciative of the staff's prompt response to our complaints and needs. We all had a wonderful time and will return to the Pearl again on a future visit to NYC.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights after a disastrous stay at another hotel, and I so wish we'd been at The Pearl the whole time. We had a spacious room that was well-appointed, very clean, and comfortable with a nice balcony. It was quiet and we slept very well. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We also ate at the E & E Grill (connected to the hotel) one rainy evening, and both had great meals. The service there too was attentive. We appreciated the continental breakfast and wished we could have made the complimentary wine & cheese hour. The only downside was that their on-demand TV service was down and since I am pregnant we were not out late at night and wanted to kick back with a movie in our room. Other than that, we were very happy. I highly recommend this place!

Having been to NYC several times, we have always stayed in the larger chain-style hotels. This was our first boutique style hotel and we were more than pleased with our choice of The Pearl. Everything from the modern-style rooms to the wine & cheese hour (which unfortunately we could only take advantage of 1 day) were perfect for our needs, as was the location in the heart of the theatre district! The hotel is immaculate and the room and bathroom were of ample space, especially for NYC. We used the small gym and it served our purposes well. Christian the Concierge was very helpful with theatre information, and the housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff could not have been nicer! We will be returning in late June and look forward to another fantastic stay at The Pearl.

We are a family of 5 and this hotel worked great for our NYC trip. Perfect location outstanding suite. Room were very clean and comfortable for our family. Great continental breakfast and wine/cheese snack. The staff is exceptionally helpful professional, very friendly and bilingual. Special thank to Miguel for all your help and professionalism. We would definitely stay here again. The Gill's family.

We enjoyed The Pearl! It was our first boutique hotel experience and our second trip to NYC. Great value for the location a block from Times Square. Rooms were very dark and tiny, but that's to be expected. Excellent service and a very nice wine and cheese hour. Worth it! The Pearl is an excellent alternative to the larger hotel chains! Go for it!
