nice food, awesome olive oils! compliments (although i did find some olive oil harvest 2012 (?) in the retail part of the store).
Service great, food great, but what is it with the music in NY restaurant? 'loud umpf umpf' What happened to Scarlatti, Vivaldi and Puccini?

OK I needed to check it out. An unusual, for the US, combination of markets, wine and food bars and at least one very good Tuscan style restaurant. On top of it, if you enjoy NYC people watching as I do, great street theater. As to the food, I dined in their upmarket Tuscan style place. It is noisy, bustling, but has fine food and excellent service.
I had a pasta course, tortelloni with ox tail and mushroom sauce which was superb. As a main, on the waitress recommendation I tried their take on strip steak. Done exactly as ordered tasty, just the right chew, but tender, WOW, OK you guys get how to do it. Avery long wine list with a number of good inexpensive, for NYC, choices. Also, if you like, fungi,do the mixed mushrooms.

Very unique experience of shopping, dining and drinking under one roof. We loved the variety of shops and foods available, and that we were able to have an appetizer from one vendor, and take our glass of wine with us to our restaurant table. The wait staff was so knowledgeable and friendly, and the buzz of the patrons was a great vibe. We were there later in the evening, but still had a wonderful experience. The prices were reasonable, and we could still make purchases after the rest of the place was closed. Thanks for the memorable evening!!

Can't say much as it is a jewel of a place. Bustling little Italian market with great fresh italian food from meat, fresh fruit, pasts and off course cheese and great restaurants. Go any time of the day and enjoy
