The hotel is located within walking distance of Ground Zero, Wall Street and the ferry depot to the Statue of Liberty. There are also multiple subway stations within waling distance and you can reach other tourist sights within 20 minutes. The room was extremely small, even in comparison to equivalent hotels in Tokyo. However, for one guest it was fine. The breakfast was typically continental American and DoubleTree cookies are definitely a treat. The internet was fast and stable. As per the lifts, I stayed there during a scheduled maintenance period in which one of the lifts was closed during the whole weekend. Nevertheless, it was not too bad.
If you are looking for a good value, away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square and the surrounding areas, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a very clean hotel and suprisingly affordable in downtown NY. Close to NYSE and other downtown attractions and businesses. About a 10-12 block walk to the World Trade Center site and to the Seaport area. Also close to Battery Park and the ferries to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

Room Tip: Try some of the surrounding restaurants rather than eating in the hotel. Murphys Tavern next door i...

Check-in was unpleasant, which makes for a bad first impression. The entrance is manned by a rather unfriendly concierge who spent most of his time in the back room, or out having a smoke. It took forever to drop off and pick up luggage before and after my stay. To add to the confusion upon entering the hotel the lobby is located on the 2nd floor - it's a very long wait for the elevator.

Luckily the hotel makes up for some of what it lacks with clean and spacious (for NYC) rooms, and a decent location. It was a quick walk to the tourist spots in lower manhattan, or to the subway for access to the rest of nyc.

Perfect location and value for my business travel needs. The lounge was a great place to relax after a day of meetings. Long wait for the elevators to service the upper floors though. Overall, very satisfied with my stay here.

Booked 2 rooms through priceline. This hotel is advertised as a 4 star property. It didn't even come close. Both rooms had trouble with the tv, no coffee maker, thermostat was broken in 1 of the rooms and both rooms needed some TLC. If you are looking for a 3 star, average, clean property to only sleep at then this hotel would be fine. I got a good deal through priceline, otherwise, I would have been very disappointed.

Rooms are very small. Bathroom especially so. The internet connection was so slow I went to a local cafe to download things. Nice and helpful restaurant staff, but most DoubleTrees offer omelets with the breakfast and this one did not.

I was in town for a few days and decided to stay in the financial district. For the location and price this was what I was looking for. The hotel is centrally located in the financial district. You can walk to sites, bars and restaurants in and around the district plus there is a subway entrance across the street as well to get where you need to go on the island. There is an Irish bar next door if you're looking for a night cap. The hotel staff was very friendly, resourceful and accommodating. I did not drive so unsure if they have a parking garage. I'm assuming they do but check ahead of time. The rooms are small but updated. The hallways are narrow as well. The only negative thing I have to say is the elevators were a little slow. There is a restaurant on ground level and to check in is on the 2nd floor. I did not eat at the hotel since when in NY there are so many great spots to try and experience and as Im sure the food is good it's not what I like to do.But overall it was a pleasurable experience and who doesn't love a warm chocolate chip cookie upon your arrival.
