“Nice hotel, good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

We stayed here for the weekend of April 12th to 14th. The price was good, hotel was very clean. When we pulled up, in the pouring rain, there was no valet, you had to get your luggage and go into the lobby, leave the car on the street and trust they would park it. It worked out ok, but I was nervous leaving my car on the very busy street, it was there for over an hour. The desk clerk was nice, seemed like he was new. This is a tiny lobby, no bar and the "restaurant' is a Starbucks. No lunch was available. Per the desk clerk, they no longer offer it. There are places to grab a bite right out the door, and there is a Dunkin right next door. The housekeeping staff was very nice, pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay here again, if the price was right. We had never stayed in the Soho area and this hotel fits the bill if you want to walk around and explore the area. The bed was amazingly comfortable.

I reviewed this hotel in July, 2012, and labeled it a "Great Find." Stayed here again in March, 2013, and am happy to say it was still just as I had found it to be last year. Exceptionally pleasant desk and bar staff, same clean, comfortable room with my requested extra pillow on the bed, same emails from the manager before and after my stay. Rate in March was more than in July, but still under $300. Ideal location for this area-its an easy walk to West Village, Soho, and Tribeca. This is a really good value for this part of the city and has become my go-to place in NYC.

The best with this hotel is its location, right next to Soho. Close to shops, restaurants and the subway. Lot of other nice and calm areas nearby on the lower west side. Much more relaxing than staying in midtown like I have done three times before. Hotel is modern, clean and comfortable. Good sleeping quality. Small rooms, but that is the way it is on Manhattan. No special service but I do not expect or need that. Was here on 3 day vacation, but this hotel would work for business as well and is close to lower manhattan and downtown.

I just booked reservations here by calling the hotel directly and can't believe how nice Chancey was! Coming from the South where hospitality is important, I definitely feel good about choosing this hotel for my upcoming vacation in NYC. Not the typical abrasive NYC service. She made me feel comforted and welcomed!

We needed a hotel by NYU, and found that the walk from this hotel was very doable. We enjoyed exploring soho. This hotel is CLEAN! Our room (708) was quiet yet near the elevator. It included free wi-fi, a work area, two very comfortable beds, and a plasma tv. the bathroom was small, but clean. The front desk people were very friendly and made good recommendations. The breakfast place, a modified Starbucks, was just fine.

This is a comfortable hotel in a fabulous location for a good price. We got an advanced rate, which was great value. The rooms are simple - we had a king bed, big tv, big shower bathroom - but clean and comfortable. We had a view of the Empire State building, which was great. There is also free wifi, and facilities to leave your bags. The hotel is a short walk to the lovely restaurants and great shopping in Soho. The service was reasonably friendly. We would definitely stay again.

Stayed here recently and found the hotel very good for what you pay for.
Pros: Excellent staff all arround, willing to please the customer. Even the cleaning ladies were always smiling...
Very good rooms, on the small size ( it´s NY), Clean, excellent beds and bathroom with the necesary ítems...
Good location and a subway station in the corner ( number 1 train).
Cons: On our first night we found our room pretty noisy facing the street and had some difficulty to sleep. In the morning we asked in the front desk to be changed to a rear room facing an inner alley. No more noise. We think it should be more noise isolation in the front rooms.
Our suggestion: Ask for a rear room ( there are 2 per floor) if is a concern for you.
The manager gave us a call the next day to see if we were pleased with the new room ( good customer service).
No more cons we can think of.
In summary, this is an excellent hotel for the price in NY. Just ask for a rear room if traffic noise concerns you...

Room Tip: Ask for a rear room to avoid traffic noise. There are 2 rear rooms per floor.
