Owner description: Chinese immigrants have brought their traditions and culture to this neighborhood in New York City's Lower East Side.

There are more vibrant Chinatowns in Brooklyn (Sunset Park) and Queens (Flushing). But there are some good Asian restaurants and the bakeries are good. More interesting is the scene along nearby Canal Street.

This area is always fun. Now, one should be prepared fo the smell of open markets with just about everythind from fish to duck! Try the bakeries and the street vendor that sells Chinese mini-cakes - they are awesome!

Located north of the financial district, court and administrative buildings, Chinatown is everything you would expect. Full of shops and restaurants for everything from the far east.

Cheap buys and awesome food. Buy in bulk and the price goes lower! So come here to haggle and eat some great and authentic Chinese food. Also street food here is pretty awesome (fried plantains, fish balls, squid balls, fried shrimp, fried crab sticks, terriyaki chicken, and more for $1 on canal street) GREAT PLACE!

It wasn't on my plans, but if you walk around NYC you will pass 100% from Chinatown. It is something you can't avoid, cos it is huge the neighbourhood! Loads of Chinese shops....loads of bargains....very colourful...and loads of pretty Chinese girls around! Add it to your list too!
