“Drink Scam!!!! Beware!!”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

We were also approached by a guy in TimeSquare and paid $10 per head to get in. Some of the comedians were entertaining... others not so great. When we got a bill of $38 for two drinks and one coke we were not pleased to say the least!! Other parties there had the same complaint and we all had to demand our change. Save yourself the trip and go for a nice dinner for the same price!

“I only gave one star because the only thing that was good was the MC”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

If this is the best in New York, you would not want to see the worst. These comedians were not funny at all. One of them even said, "Im dying here", as nobody was laughing. There were two moms who brought their 14 year old daughters. What the hell were they thinking. This was very filthy language for 14 years let alone us. They could have taken the girls to Cinderella or Annie for better entertainment. She bought her tickets on the street. Glad our daughter and daughter - inlaw are much better mothers than they are. They would never do this as we have a 14 year granddaughter. We thought we were going to see the person on the video, no swearing. The comedian asked me why I was not laughing and I said, "you have not said anything funny" He said, "ouch". Many people left during the performance and one woman also said to a different comedian, "say something funny", when he asked why she was leaving. I guess the funny thing is that the comedian did not get it. He did not improve. We stayed for 4 and the 5th we had to leave as he was just as bad. We could not stay for the rest of the 7. Hope they all have day jobs as the girl comic said she did. Even she boomed. I would say save your money and go to a broadway show. You will not be disappointed. This is not comedy, just filthy language. Even with a couple of drinks, which is a requirement to purchase to see them, in me, they were not the least bit funny. A big fat zero for this place.

“Average comedy night, ok but not brilliant.”
Reviewed April 26, 2013 via mobile

Paid $10 per ticket in Times Square, so worth haggling to get down from 20, it's a good taxi ride out to the east side, and if you haven't Pre-booked get there a little earlier and go for a drink in the Irish bar round the corner, have a few large drinks and possibly stick to $15 soft drink package in the club. Yes the two drink policy can be expensive, think my JD and coke was about $15 a drink (2drink policy) so it does end up quite an expensive night, budget $100 for 2 inc taxi! However balance that against the show whet I think at least 6 or 7 stand ups in the 2 hour show, if you go for the 9pm show then it's all over by 10.45 so that the next show can start, might be a longer show when they have no time restrictions.
All in all if you want a relaxed night, a few funny stories, some good banter it's worth a visit.
Not a big room, about 50 seats so intimate comedy venue.

“good and bad points”
Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

we were approached on times square by two ticket sellers, they were friendly and informative and were up-front about the 2 drink limit. however, reading through all the reviews, there seems to be a variation in ticket prices and we definitely paid the more expensive end at $20 a head!
we arrived at 9.30 as instructed and had to wait in the roasting bar as the 8 o'clock show had overrun. at the time I didn't mind this apart from two things: any drinks purchased in the bar before the show don't count toward the two drink limit, and again from reading the reviews it is obvious they often overrun the earlier shows, so need to stop encouraging people to turn up early.
the comedians were funny so no complaints, although it sounds like we were lucky. our waiter was nice and regularly checked our drinks. the drinks prices were expensive, and we were annoyed to see they automatically charge 20% gratuity, meaning our drinks bill was $80 for five drinks. they also kept our change without offering it back...
as I said in the title, good and bad points. good for a giggle (them mc was particularly funny) but pricey for what you get.

“Probably not worth it”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

There were a lot of comedians and liek everywhere, a mixed bag. In three hours probably ten comedians of varying length. Only two were very funny, maybe three on a stretch.

When you couple that news with the $20/person on a Thursday night and the two drink ripoff, my date night for two cost me $95.

If I take the $95 and apply the 3 out of 10 funny ratio, the New York Comedy Club should have cost me $28.50.
