“Practical hotel for quick shopping trips”
Reviewed August 18, 2011

My wife and I stayed at the Cassa for four nights during July. Rooms are clean, service is good, and the hotel location is quite practical for someone with a shopping agenda in NYC. the hotel gym is rather small but has the basic equipment. Hotel price is rather too high for the overall value of what is offered

Can't really beat the location, it's perfect as 5th ave and times square are only a block away. The hotel is modern and well kept. The room was quite tiny and we experienced the elevator problem too (although they did say they were in the process of fixing this) but these are minor complaints, if that. The staff were probably better than anywhere we've ever stayed - Kevin helped us out with anything and everything we needed, definitely ask for him!! Overall extremely happy with Cassa.

Our room wasn't when we arrived (early) so we checked our bags and wandered the city. In a short while, the hotel staff called to let us know our room was ready. A lovely surprise awaited us. The manager had upgraded us from a queen room to a king suite! Beautiful white leather sofas, plasma screen television (huge) and luxury bedding and bath. Very nice hotel and great location.

Close to times square and billed as boutique but still small rooms, small lobby and passageways so not much room to enjoy any public areas. We booked on hot-wire and for one night was ok but for longer you need more room

I found the staff at this hotel very helpful. Before leaving for NYC I emailed the hotel looking for the easiest way to get there from JFK airport. They answered me within a few hours. When we got to the airport we looked for the shuttle that would drop us at Grand Central Station. This cost $15. There was none there so we ended up getting the G0-airport link shuttle. It's a mini bus that brings you to your hotel for $19. You have to share it with others but we didn't mind that. When we got to our hotel room, it was very clean but also small. This didn't bother us but it did surprise us a little! The room was cleaned everyday and had a great TV and air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent - just a few minutes from times square, shops and restaurants - everything you need really! Every morning the hotel gave us an information sheet on the weather and what to do in NYC. It's a lovely idea and helpful as we knew when to expect rain!! You can walk to most places from the hotel but a metro card for the subway also came in handy - $29 for unlimited use. We got an NYC explorer pass on line before we left and I think it's a good idea. You still have to queque to get your tickets but it save you a little money. I really enjoyed my visit to New York and would definitely stay at this hoyel again.

Still a bit of construction, and there must have been a flood on my floor as the rug was wet, but if the price was right, I would stay here every time I am in New York!

First, the staff are outstanding! Genuinely nice, friendly, helpful, and proud of where they work.

The rooms have everything you need and is totally up to date - comfortable...

The neighborhood is great - enough food and variety.

Close enough to walk to Grand Central.
