“Another flawless stay at the Sheraton Tribeca”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2011

This is my second time staying at the Sheraton Tribeca...and I'll be making in my first choice every time I go back to NYC. The staff, led by Lowell Beebe-Center makes a concerted effort to make you feel welcome.

Location is great, fitness center is huge for NYC standards (and free), rooms are in great condition, bathrooms are spotless and feature nice amenities. For the reasonable price they offer in NYC, you cannot do better.

I stayed at the Sheraton Tribeca a few weeks ago when I was in town for business. The accommodations were great! The rooms are extremely clean and new. It's a great location and staff is very friendly and helpful. I liked it so much that I will be back in February.

I watched them build this hotel from day 1, and couldn't wait to stay there. Yesterday's snowstorm gave me that opportunity. I checked in at 3pm, and all I wanted to do was take a nap. IMPOSSIBLE as the hotel fronts Canal Street...the street between the Manhattan Bridge and the Holland Tunnel. Non-stop gridlock and horns honking until about 7 or 8pm. Unless you are looking for a view of the Empire State Building, I would suggest you ask for a room that is NOT facing Canal Street. The rooms are average size for new York...but it's new, so it's nice. Was not a fan of the $9.99 wi-fi charge. And be careful...their network blocks some websites. The rooms are a bit pricey. Overall, had a pretty good stay.

Nice hotel but insane internet policy. They block almost everything - its worse than your in house IT watchdog. A style website was blocked because of: "Bikinis/Lingerie". That's pretty draconian. Loosen up, management, it's not like I'm running my webcam porn business out of your posh TriBeCa hotel! Maybe you can lecture me about God and morality over my continental breakfast too.

I stayed in this hotel for the first time because of its proximity to Tribeca and Soho and because it was a new hotel. I couldn't have been more impressed. The staff from the moment we walked in was friendly and helpful and made you feel like you were family. The design of the lobby was beautiful - I enjoyed the area where you could surf the internet and my Mom and I had a wonderful relaxing time at the bar after our Broadway show. The proximity to the subways was excellent as well - several train lines to choose from close to the hotel. The sleeping experience was outstanding - my daughter was reading the tags on the pillows and sheets to see if she could order them! I look forward to visiting in the summer when I can take advantage of havng a cocktail on the roof top terrace with the best views of Manhattan. The management of this hotel should be commended for the outstanding people that were hired - from the cleaning woman who was so cheerful, to the friendly bartender , to the concierge who greeted us warmly each day.

As soon as I arrived (late in the evening), I was greeted by 3 separate employees. I went to the bar to eat. I don't eat meat, and although their were options on the menu for me - the bartender let me chose to modify one of their entrees to my liking - allowing me to eat exactly what I had been craving. Massive beverage selection.Loads of craft beers and a liquor selection you wouldn't expect to see at a hotel bar. The bartender, Robert, gave me tons of attention and conversation - making sitting solo at the bar completely comfortable and entertaining.

I stayed for 4 nights and I was able to carry on my daily routine without any bumps. Anything I needed was always readily accessible. Between the most comfortable bed and Starbucks coffee in my room and in the lobby I was less stressed than if I'd been waking up at home.

Upon arrival to my room I found a hand written letter from the housekeeping mngr, Sophia, thanking me for my stay with them. Even when I had housekeeping service while I was out of my room, the housekeeper, Giselle wrote me another note. She even took notice of the coffee type I had been drinking/ the type of sugar I used and left extra!
Every single employee I walked by made eye contact and said hello, or asked how my stay had been so far.

In my time there, I must have met the entire management/supervisory team - which tells me they are closely involved in everything that goes on - and very available. This Sheraton is recently opened - so it truly embodies everything that the Sheraton brand is about today - which is an outstanding product. And being such a new property I have to say I am surprised I did not encounter any inconsistencies you might expect . Everything was smooth and flawless. Definitely exceeded my expectations.

The Sheraton Tribeca is a great downtown hotel. The staff is AMAZING! From the door men to reception to room service to the staff at the coffee bar - everyone was beyond nice and helpful. I was so impressed with the service.

The location is great. I spent a lot of time seeing plays on Broadway and the subway to the Times Square was a quick direct trip. The subway is just a short two blocks from the Sheraton.

I would suggest that the Sheraton consider adding movies on demand to their TV systems.

The only downside was the door to the room. There are a few open inches between the bottom of the door and the floor board. It makes for a noisy experience if you have active neighbors.

I would definitely return to this hotel! Another great addition to Starwood's properties.
