Lovely feel to this restaurant! Had the taster menu which would recommend and just the right amount of food for a filling dinner. The betel leaf starters were delicious - never had them before and the beef was a real taste sensation! Staff were nice and friendly too
Tables close together so as New Yorkers like to have conversations at full volume it can make for an interesting evening!

Stopped in for cocktails and nibbles on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere was elegant casual. The had the large windows open for a nice breeze. Not noisy, so easy to talk. Will be back for full dinner.

Betel is a warm and inviting restaurant on one of the best streets in the West Village. The food is interesting and flavorful and the drinks are mixed to perfection (great happy hour from 5-7). They also have a nice wine list and offer quite a few different wines by the glass. The staff is always friendly and it's a great laid back vibe with no pretentiousness. Dishes I recommend: spiced corn fritters, papaya salad, salt and pepper cuttlefish and the signature betel leaf dishes. Prices are a bit high but the quality of the food and staff certainly justifies it.

This West Village restaurant is hip and has a W-burg vibe. The quality and creativity of the food is impressive. The son-in-law eggs, anything on a betel leaf, the mixtures of textures and flavors...nothing disappoints. Desserts too are excellent. Thoroughly recommend it.

What an intro to New York! Fresh, delicious Asian fusion food packed with flavour and a kick. Buzzing atmosphere and attentive service. Tasting menu was delish! Particularly enjoyed the duck salad. Loved it!
