Stayed at the Setai as part of my company's meeting. Accommodations were comfortable and Ai Fiori was quite exceptional.
Gym is 24hrs so very covenient.
Management needs a wake up call. No presence from Hotel Manager at any time despite on going problems. Quite obvious there is little care from that end. In and out of the hotel, early morning and night, no sign of upper management anywhere. Just returned from the Conmaught where Hotel Manager always seemed visible.
Location was good and worked out well for off site meetings.
Spa - empty and cold. Seems disregarded. Hope things will change with the new hotel.
Regina & Chris who seemed the only managers who cared were A+

The Setai is a fantastic hotel - it's reasonably pricey but the service and room quality are superb. You are also very well placed to travel to NYC's numerous attractions. The bathrooms in particular are huge and very well designed. We had a corner room on the 8th floor so we had great views of the Empire State Building and Fifth Avenue. The road noise was fine too and certainly didn't bother us. There are lots of coffee shops etc within easy walking distance so that's where we got breakfast. We didn't eat in the Italian restaurant on the second floor but the menu looked really good. We did have drinks and snacks in the ground floor bar (Bar on Fifth) and they were good and sensibly priced - each night from 8pm there is live jazz in the bar. I highly recommend the Setai

Been staying at the Setai since the opening in 2010. We come to NYC several times a year for business, friends and events. Prior to the hotel's opening have stayed in many NY hotels with ratings of 5 star. None compare though to the Setai. Why? Impeccable service, attention to you the details. The same staff since the opening and they all know your name. Incredibly courteous and always want to make sure your stay is perfect! Nice to have a call from the hotel prior to your arrival to see if they can arrange any restaurant reservations or theatre.
The location of the hotel is mid-town and convenient to all neighborhoods. Let's talk rooms. Nice to stay in a contemporary elegant and new hotel room- and the spacious bathrooms with and bright cheerful sunlight! Great to be able to open windows in spring or fall if one wants-and the construction of the hotel is solid and not a facade. Top grade bath fixtures and furniture. Hotel facilities are equally as top notch. Restaurant, spa and gym are incredible along with the food! I would say this is The Best of The Best Hotel in NYC! I could be happy living there.

Room tip: All rooms are excellent! Not a bad room in this hotel.

Just got back from a one night stay at The Setai. The hotel is great and the staff is extraordinary. Everyone from Brian (the manager) to the concierge to the bell hops was friendly, attentive and helpful. Would definitely highly recommend this hotel and will certainly return.

We had the sexiest trip ever by staying in The Setai over the Valentines' Day weekend! A gorgeous room on the 10 floor overlooking the Empire State Building, with champagne and fruit waiting for us on our 1st night, really set the tone for our unforgettable 4 night stay. Step into your immaculate jacuzzi with designer bath salts and, after your luxurious bath for two, slip on your thick, cotton, terry cloth robes and slide into your fluffy cotton slippers and you are now ready to adjust the power assisted curtain for your NYC night view. From the complimentary bar fridge, take a bottle of sparkling spring water or a designer bottled pop and congratulate yourself for having the good taste for booking The Setai, while munching on their freshly baked cookies, offered nightly on a leather tray with their turn down service. We brought down our complimentary newspaper and breakfasted every morning in their critically acclaimed restaurant, Ai Fiori, and had freshly squeezed orange juice, cappuccino topped with a chocolate leaf motif, sweet chicken sausage and eggs, poached soft, medium or hard to your liking, all the while people watching from our priceless view of 5th Avenue. After breakfast, we waited, never for more than 3 minutes, for one of their many town cars to whisk us off to one of NYC renowned museums. In the evenings, we had our nightcap in their hip and happening lounge, always with a live jazz band playing in the background. While the seating in the lounge was self-served, the bartender would come and personally greet each table and make cocktail recommendations based on your preferences. We were even pleasantly comped with an elegant tray of nuts and gourmet popcorn. Of course, the entire staff was first-class, from the Personal Assistant (Nerissa), who called ahead to arrange for a welcome amenity, to the concierge (Matt), who generously offered a welcome cocktail when waiting for the room check-in, to the smiling doorman, who was always quick to check on the availability of the town car. We were so pampered by The Setai's included amenities that we didn't even check out their award winning Auriga Spa! If you are going to NYC, there is no other hotel that will make you feel that you "have truly arrived" other than this 5 star stunner on 5th avenue!

Room tip: Try to get a room with a view of the Empire State Building!
