My first trip to NYC deserved memorable accomodations. The Setai Fifth Avenue was a great choice. The 900 sq ft Avenue apartment accomodation was enough room to spread out over. I was oddly delighted to have a stackable washer and dryer in the apartment so that I could return home with clean clothes. The seven foot bathtub was great for soaking and the tv built into the double vanity mirror - outstanding. The Empire State Building towered over the foot of my bed framed perfectly by the floor to ceiling windows.
Each time you entered the lobby, you're greated with this wonderful spa fragrence. The staff were genuinely attentive. If a staff member would see you exit your room, they would anticipate your need for the elevator and light the down button. The door man would push the revolving door for you upon exit or entrance from the building.
The location was perfect for Midtown. You were safe to travel at night by foot back to the hotel from Times Square/Theater District. You were no more than a five minute walk from Herald Sqaure and of course the shoppint on Fifth Avenue was the best. We rarely took a taxi except to travel to lower Manhattan to see the 9/11 memorial.
The only item that still leaves me puzzled is that in my reservation confirmation, it stated that I was to anticipate a call from a personal assistant before my arrival. I was looking foward to that conversation having never been to the city before, I thought this would a perfect way to arrange logistics. The call never came. I mentioned this on the survey I completed upon return to my home and didn't receive a response back then either. Left me puzzled. It was not necessarily a distraction from my visit but it would have made a great experience truly remarkable/ . .
