“Always a great time at the Andaz”

The location us unbeatable
The staff is very nice - a treat in NY
The restaurant menu is inventive and the food healthy and of high quality and served in a casual setting that makes you feel at home
They lack a kids menu though
The rooms are modern and "hip"
The ones on 5th avenue have an amazing view on the NY Library and the Empire State Building

the room i stayed in was nice, large for NYC and especially big bath room.
for me it only lacked a few drawers or cabinet space.
breakfast was good and staff at the 'reception' very friendly and genuine.

its a hotel to recommend.

Very generous rooms and all in all the hotel gave a very spacious feel, something which is quite rare in New York.

Rooms and lobby are completely spotless. It feels so clean and new. Welcoming and check in feels more like a place to live compared to your typical hotel.

Complitemtary mini bar (except achohol) is a great plus. As is wine hour between 6 and 9PM.

The only little irritation I had was that the breakfast restaurant was rather crowdy. Filled up with non-residents, it was sometimes difficult to get a table. A few comfy reading chairs in the lobby wouldn't hurt either.

But those were only minor things. All in all the hotel was fabulous, and I can't wait to get back.

Dear Fnate F,

We love your feedback - thank you! Our intent is to make you feel like a resident of NYC when you're at Andaz 5th Avenue…so I'm glad you felt that way. The Shop does get quite busy for breakfast (as its popular with both guests and locals). Next time you're here, be sure to let a host make a reservation for you as we only take reservations for hotel residents!

Hope to see you again soon,
Megan

I have stayed at the Andaz several times in the past 2 years. I continue to be impressed by the consistent comfort, cleanliness and quiet which are the hallmarks of this distinctive property. The Andaz is a bit edgy on its exterior, but the rooms are both minimalist and elegant at the same time. In stark contrast to the hustle-bustle of 5th Avenue just outside your window, the rooms allow the weary traveler to press a button to close the blinds and enjoy quiet solitude in a plush, comfortable bed and relaxing surroundings. Even the fresh scent in the air and the complimentary mini-bar serve to relax and comfort. The staff is polite and helpful. I travel on business to NYC several times a year, and I no longer have to be concerned about getting a quiet restful night of sleep. Eureka - The Andaz!

this was my birthday present a week in new york and could'nt have asked for a better hotel
really modern clean and fresh, delightful staff genuinely pleasant and helpful
within walking distance of so many locations -times square /rockafeller centre/ny public library /empire state building to name a few
the room was lovely the bathroom great size and the shower is fantastic especially the seat and bowl to soak your feet after a long day sightseeing
the free mini bar (soft drinks, chocolate ,crisps) is a welcome addition
each evening just off the lobby you can enjoy FREE wine so lovely to sit and have a glass of wine before heading out again
make sure to fit in a visit to the cellar bar in the basement -excellent cocktails /wine list
on leaving we were given some chocolate and newyork magnets as a souvenir
all the little touches which just made this hotel stand out as such a winner
would love to return

An outside-the-box hotel. Loved our stay there. Not your typical cookie cutter. Great use of space in our room. Gorgeous bathroom. Happy staff, and that makes a huge difference. Amazing amanities for a Manhattan property:complimentary wireless internet, and complimentary
mini bar with non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. They also had 24-hour free coffee and bottled water in the lobby. The restaurant, called The Shop, was quite good as well.

We upgraded to a suite and while its a beautiful room I really wish they would have a bath tub on the suites. Otherwise a wonderful stay.

I love their happy hour. The location, close enough to time square (3-4 blocks) but away from the crowds. The service is very good too. Overall I would strongly recommend this hotel.
