Such a beautiful place! Great food, fresh ingredients, incredibly decor, and superb service from the moment we were welcomed into the restaurant to the time we left.
The philosophy of Craft is craft. I would recommend this dining spot for anyone.
Thanks, Craft! Can't wait to visit NYC again.

While recently visiting NYC my wife and I had dinner here. It had been several years since dining here. We were pleased to see that Craft is as good as ever. Reservation system was easy and accurate...6pm...table in front near the street window. Hostesses greeted us and said they had a nice table for us. When the initial welcome is warm, it sets the tone for the whole meal...great.
Our waiter was Ed who was informative about the menu and did not rush us to make dinner choices. After a relaxing cocktail, we were ready to order. All were shared dishes. The double foie gras was outstanding. Arugula salad was large and plenty for two. The “cornish” hen was really a small chicken and called “amish” on the website...cooked to perfection. Spring onion was carmelized...different and very nice. Hen of the woods mushroom...always perfect. Short ribs done just like the Craft cookbook.
One tends to order too much, but the temptations are great. The food, ambience and the service was outstanding. Always great to revisit a favorite restaurant and have a wonderful experience. Makes you want to return. Kudos to the entire staff!
Only negative was the missing “take home treat”.

I am a HUGE Top Chef fan and I love Tom Colicchio both for his knowledge of food and for his food activism. CRAFT has been on my list for a long time, so it was the perfect splurge meal for our anniversary dinner.

Ed (our table captain) and his assistant Eric really made our experience special. We were presented with a personalized menu and a complimentary glass of sparking wine.

I ordered the short ribs and the Mr. gets the pork duo for our mains. We also get an order of aligot and sugar snap peas for our sides. I get a glass of red and the Mr. sticks to water. While waiting for our meals we enjoy bread smeared with butter and sea salt. We are served an amuse bouche with cucumber, radish, and something else on a crostini that I can’t remember. It was a tasty morsel and the perfect setup for a dinner of a lifetime.

My short ribs were fall off the bone tender with a gravy that made me want to lick the plate. The little turnips and onions cooked with the short ribs, left me longing for more.

The Mr.’s pork, (which I tasted), might be the best pork we’ve ever eaten. The aligot was as good as any we’ve had in Paris, and the sugar snap peas provided a nice element of crunch. It was a beautiful meal, topped off with sugar spiced donuts with coconut-caramel sauce and marshmallow crème anglaise. I had coffee and the Mr. once again stuck to water.

After that we were surprised with a tour of the kitchen AND we met Tom!! He was so nice. I probably embarrassed myself with the 'gushing' but it was such a surreal and unexpected moment.

The Mr and I FLOATED back to our hotel. We couldn't stop smiling. It truly was the dinner of a lifetime.

I HIGHLY recomend CRAFT. Even if you don't get to meet Tom, the food and service will make you glad you dined there!!

I was fortunate enough to have the time to have lunch at Craft while visiting NYC. The lunch was amazing and I cannot encourage you enough to go if ever in the city.
We practically ordered one of each from the menu and shared. We started with an octopus carpaccio with two of the signature cocktails. This was followed by an array of sides - spring pea risotto, an assortment of charred mushrooms, orange braised fennel, and roasted carrot. Then the mains came out - we had quail on a bed of green chickpeas and lamb bacon pappardelle. Though we were stuffed, we had to give the banana torte a try. We were not disappointed in a single plate brought to our table - and we were so impressed, we couldn't even rank them or give claim to a favorite. Do yourself a favor - go!

Atmosphere. This is a fairly large restaurant, but due to how the tables are set out with nice dividers placed strategically, it felt cozy and intimate. We had full tables on all sides of us but never had the issue of hearing their conversations. There was good alternative music playing at a reasonable volume and the seating was comfortable.

The staff was primo. Attentive without being smothering, and very well timed (for once I didn't have to answer a question after just putting a fork full of food into my mouth).

I am a Top Chef fan, so was very excited to try the food here - I wanted to have a better understanding of Tom's tasting palate. I get it!

Thanks for such a wonderful meal and experience.
