“Incredible Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

We checked into our room late at night after a long night in the city and were impressed with the prompt and courteous service. Within minutes we had our room keys and were making our way to the very spacious corner suite on the 8th floor. Nice soft radio music that greeted us when we walked into the room was a sweet touch! The views from the corner suite was AMAZING- especially at night when you can make out the dazzling lights from the Williamsburg bridge from one window, and the Empire State Building in the other. And the room itself was a work of art! Absolutely loved the modern, contemporary decor. The cold, sleek concrete touched up with soft, high quality furniture makes you want to consider living there for good!

The hotel staff had everything we needed, I forgot my shaving kit, they provided us with one. THe bathroom was stocked to impress! The shampoo and conditioner werent the cheap kind you find at most hotels that smell like your grandma's perfumes. Nice hygiene kit and toiletries! You could literally come without any of your own things and still feel clean and comfortable. The bathrobes were warm and comfortable and they even provide you with brand new indoor slippers!

Overall, awesome stay!

Just back in SF after a fantastic stay at The Nolitan! Couldn't have been better. Fabulous room, really nice and welcoming staff, great lobby for relaxing and don't forget to check out the roof top with its wonderful views of the city. Loved the neighborhood - really close to everything. Will absolutely stay her on our next visit to NYC.

Room Tip: We had a neighborhood balcony room and really enjoyed the fresh air and people watching.

We spent 5 nights at the Nolitan and our stay was just perfect. We travel to NYC at least 2 times per year and have been staying at the James Soho or the Trump (soho) but have now found OUR hotel! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the wifi works (many hotels rave about their wifi but it's either too slow or there is an addional costs which I think is ridiculous especially if the room rate is very high), rooms are clean and modern and the location is awesome (if you like chinatown and broadway). We had an angle room on the 4th floor (which did not look out to the main road (Kenmare) and were not disturbed by the noise at all.

One negative point is the breakfast which I would not book again: the continental breakfast is basically bread and jam and some pastries, no extras. If you want a coffee latte in addition, you pay. On our last day my partner and I decided to skip breakfast and only had a hot tea, our daughter opted for scrambled eggs and the bill came down to following: 3 full continental breakfasts (for 2 teas???) plus scrambled eggs (usd 16 which we had to pay extra since it was not part of the continental breakfast). When we complained, the waiter (very firmly) told us that it didn't matter what they put on our bill since it was the amount the restaurant billed to the hotel and we would only pay for the eggs anyway (that was not quite the point I would say). So great hotel, devasting breakfast service!

This hotel is in a great location. Clean, bohemian like in style, great lounge. Happy hour has some great red wine. Staff was always very helpful. I loved it here. We were on the 7th floor, and slept comfortably. The noise outside was very little, beds are comfy. Price for what you get is GREAT!

Room Tip: Room 704 was great.

Ok, if you are new to New York or have never been in Manhattan and want to hit the ground running and shopping in the "Capital of the World," then this is the place to ease you in. If you are here on business and need to rely on alert hotel staff comfort and convienience, then book the Nolitan. I'm a New Yorker and an Up-Stater by residence now. Born and raised in Los Angeles for first 1/2 of my life. That said I'm drawn to the Nolitan because it represents the next chapter in Manhattan. In 5 minutes drive you are in Williamsburg Brooklyn the take the Spirits Tour "buy local" etc., plus you are next door to the home of fashion's shops. For you newbies that need ChinaTown and Little Italy, we won't judge you for going.
The Hotel reflects the side of New York you have only heard of. The staff are not condescending to the "clueless" tourists and can give you the resident opinion of the constantly changing food scene of lower Manhattan. As I'm writing this everyone in the lobby is bilingual mostly from the EU. Obviously everyone can have a bad day at work but I've never seen a consistently proactive group in the staff. The rooms are perfect for adult chill time. Last time I stayed was +1 year right after opening. Mostly couples stay in my opinion, if you need a kiddy pool seek life elsewhere, this is NYC. If you aren't ready for it, go to Queens or Staten Island, or maybe White Plains. Otherwise, this is the city experience like it should be.

Loved the hotel, specially the suite 801 to which we were upgraded for 1 night, great spacious room with fabulous views, you just don't want to go out! The lower corner room also nice. Hip & light feeling and good comfort. Nice shower and closet space. In 402 we heard noise from the corridor, airco can be noisy when switched on, street noise no problem. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location near Chinatown, little Italy and hip shops, restaurants and subway. The Cantine Parisienne restaurant serves tasty modern french food in a hip urban setting. Taxi service to airport went smooth. Would stay here again!

Room Tip: Suite 801 is a must for an unforgettable NY stay...

The Nolitan is really a gem. The location is central to SoHo, Little Italy, and Chinatown. The decor is modern but unassuming. The staff is honestly friendly and helpful, and the new restaurant was excellent. On my last visit, we arrived early and were allowed to check-in before 9:00. The room had a small terrace that was nice to step out onto even though it was early March, and being on one of the higher floors gave us a great city-view at night. Can't wait to go back this summer.
