Description: Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.

Jean Georges is forever young, fresh and inspiring. Perhaps now the finest restaurant in New York has recently been refreshed to be even more now. The chef's passion for freshness and clear flavors guides the menu. A wonderful wine list with good values in each price range. Professional service at this original, famous chef's namesake restaurant.

My husband surprised me with a dinner reservation. First, the ambience was really relaxing. The staff were accomodating. I had egg caviar, sea scallops and wagyu beef tenderloin. My husband had peekytoe crab salad, ruby shrimp and sea urchin, and crispy suckling pig all of which were exquisitely presented. The portion was just right. Some fine dining, you feel hungry still after the service, but here it's worth every penny. My husband and I are very particular with attention to detail and we weren't disappointed. I liked the manner of how they presented the food as if they're handling a masterpiece. It's classy and not stiff. They will even tell you what's in it and how it should be eaten. They have good wine selection for pairing. All the food was really delicious, the egg caviar was mouth-watering and the sea scalllops, I really felt like eating seaside, that's how fresh it tasted. The beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked medium rare. The least I like was the dessert, i had the harvest (fruits) I didn't appreciate the taste of a cooked pear, other than that, the rest of the desert on the plate was good, my husband had the chocolate, I should gotten the same plate (it was good). Overall, i think it's worthy of the 3 Michelin star, worth the money spent, not overrated and the best part is, they went above and beyond to make my day so special and unforgettable.

The food is perfect ! Best fois gras ever, with lychee purée, it's an unnexpected experience, delicious ! The staff is very kind, polite and thoughtful. Perfect for pre-theater, near Lincoln Center, in the Trump Hotel. If you can, don't miss it !

Jean Georges had created a vocabulary of his own and the main dining room in this jewel of his crown is simply perfection. And what he does at lunch is simply a gift to New York that shows that he has a generous spirit and wants everyone with good taste to have the ability to dine in this restaurant......prices are a gift.

We've been eating here since it opened and now bring our grandsons too as they seem to appreciate such fine restaurants although they are 13 and 16.

Of course it's expensive......and worth every penny.
