We stayed a week for our Silver Wedding Anniversary.. Reward nights, so it was great value ;)
We didn't so much avoid spending anything in the hotel, as just had little opportunity to do so. Our itinerary was hectic to say the least, you can cram hell of a lot into 7 days when you are in the city that never sleeps.
The location is fantastic, just minutes walk from most of the popular theatres and Times Sq.
There is a Subway station directly below the hotel.. Great connections if you are travelling North or South, otherwise it's a short walk to Times Sq. to pick up the other lines.
The one thing we did intend doing was having breakfast in the hotel just once, on our anniversary day.. However it was way too busy and would have involved a 15 minute wait. Not really a problem but we had a pre-booked tour leaving in 45 minutes. If you are spending this sort of cash on breakfast you don't want to fly through the dining area!
Like I say, not the hotels problem just a touch of bad planning on my part.
The rest of our stay was faultless. Lovely corner room up on the 22nd floor with a view down 8th Avenue. and across to The Hudson River.
The bottle of Prosecco on ice in the room was a nice touch on arrival. Much appreciated.
