“We will be back!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

Stayed here for my 50th bday weekend! Polina, of their Instant Service, helped my partner arrange for flowers, wine and fantastic bday cake upon our arrival- that surprise went off without a hitch!

Requested a top floor room and it was beautiful! Location to broadway was perfect.

We will definitely be back! Thanks again to Polina!

It's amazing how staff can play a big role in making or breaking reputation of a hotel. I was impressed at how quickly the room was ready - they called to let us know the room ws ready at 11am even though check in was not until 3pm. Room was average, bathroom larger than average. We had to call for extra toiletries - one bottle of each for a room with 2 queen beds did not cut it. What got me was the staff though. Very impersonal, barely civil front desk staff, bell hops having their own conversation while we waited there waiting for assistance - finally when my husband spoke up - one of them had an attitude - I mean how dare we interrupt a conversation??? We went to the concierge with questions, we had to prompt for ideas even though they were specific questions.
Location wise - unbeatable. Hells Kitchen one block way. Times Sq one block away. Good view from our room on the 24th floor.
Would we stay here again? No. If I am paying same dollars, will stay somewhere that makes me feel more welcome. Service is important and staff NEEDS to work on making their guests feel comfortable and welcome.

Room Tip: Definitely get a room on the higher floor.

I booked this hotel stay on hotwire. I was very pleased with the location. This was a trip for my sister and I, so I had requested 2 beds. Upon check-In we were informed that they could not accommodate our request, but had however upgraded us to a corner room! Loved it! Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Would want a corner room again!

I've stayed at this hotel a half dozen times and put on three two day conferences with a dozen speakers and 150 participants. The hotel is solid. Comfortable rooms, that have great views, are clean, smell good and are well appointed. The housekeeping staff is excellent. The conference staff is first rate; there were no issues at any of my three events.

On-property restaurants are trendy, over priced with average food. But the choices within a few blocks are endless; Times Square to the east, Hells Kitchen to the west.

My only dig, is that the gym is just adequate, it should be better.

Room Tip: I like looking north, but all views are good.

My first impression of the hotel, to be very honest, was not that great. Having been delayed on our flight to JFK for 5 hours, we arrived very late (and tired) and the check-in experience at around 11.30pm was lacklustre at best. The lady behind the desk seemed genuinely disinterested and I wondered why she was on the reception desk as the first person most guests would see. I was allocated a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the street (in the UK this would be 1st floor and Europe 2nd floor) but was actually just one floor up from the lobby and some of the street parking signs were almost up to the windows. I'd been told at check-in that the hotel was fully booked, which I accepted. Even so, the prospect of 5 nights overlooking that was not appealing. My friend's room was nearby and he found clothing and underwear from the previous occupants of his room still in the drawers, so he was moved - magically - to another room in the "full" hotel. In fairness, my room was very clean and spacious. The next morning, I enquired about changing rooms and within a few minutes, had been upgraded to a corner room 30 floors up. A great example of superb customer service - and attitude - by the member of staff involved - in stark contrast to his colleague the night before. The room was extremely well appointed and the views were simply fantastic. The bed was incredibly comfortable. As a non coffee drinker, I asked for additional tea 'pods' to replace the coffee - this was done every day without me having to ask again. It's certainly these little touches which go far - just like the complimentary umbrellas provided by the first class bell and front door team. They were so friendly and good fun to talk to, providing useful suggestions for somewhere to eat or drink. We ended up having quite a few conversations with them during our stay. The bar area was very attractive, modern and welcoming. On our final day, we used the hotel restaurant for breakfast and whilst it was pricey, it was certainly worth it. The hotel location is great - just far enough from the (very!) bright lights and noise of Times Square, but only a few minutes from the action. With the exception of the first receptionist, the staff were top notch, the rooms were spotless and well serviced. Whilst it's a very expensive choice, I'd highly recommend this hotel.

We spent 4 happy nights with the buzz of NY at our feet. The hotel gym was better the average. You will see this is necessary if you give into the temptation of MULTIPLE Shake Shack burgers which is literally just on the corner.
Comfy bed, roomy bathroom and a high level of cleanliness. We wanted to go to a baseball game and the door staff were really helpful.

I think this hotel misses a step by not offering free wi fi or even as a minimum at least in the lobby or bar. The rate was ridiculously expensive and for a hotel of this standard in the heart of New York city it felt a bit cheeky on their part!!

Overall great stay.

Room Tip: higher floors to help you escape the noise of the city

Spent a magical night in a Skyview Studio Suite...what a memorable experience! The views are stunning you literally see uptown and downtown along 8th Avenue. Time Square is just a block away. It's ideal for any musical theatre and exploring the buzz of groovy bars and restaurants in Hell's Kitchen. The hotel is quite new (most Time Square hotels are a bit tired and old). Room amenities are sassy and functional, and our suite had a great functional sofa bed.

Room Tip: treat yourself and choose the higher floor suites - the views are breathtaking and will ensure you...
